Parent Guidance for Special Ed Services 2020-2021 SY The goal of this guidance is to provide parents and students with an understanding of the different opportunities for instruction and service delivery, regardless of the format of delivery to begin the 2020-2021 SY. This is intended as general guidance, as individual decisions for IEP services will be determined by IEP teams. The focus for communication and contacts with students and families will also include a commitment to fostering strong communities of support for students. Parents who are considering enrollment in Sumner Virtual Academy should know that all instruction and intervention provided will be done only in a virtual format. Consider how your child will be able to engage in a combination of live video conferencing, pre-recorded lessons, web-based lessons, and independent work that will need to be completed offline to meet deadlines. Most students will need some support from parent(s) to navigate the technology and virtual components that are expected of students to be successful. In order to assist you with making decisions about Sumner Virtual Academy and provide information about the initial 2-week Hybrid Schedule, the following Q&A is provided: Question Traditional Enrollment Sumner Virtual Academy with 2-week Hybrid Schedule Services provided on location of the student during schedule.
