CONTACT YOUR SCHOOL COUNSELOR! Falcon Cove Middle School Counseling The guidance department offers many services for assisting students to adjust to the middle school's Resources organization. Guidance services include: • individual counseling • student socialization and orientation • occupational and educational exploration • course selection • developing interpersonal skills • study skills Students should feel free to turn to their counselors for information and help concerning personal and school adjustment issues, friendships, academics and even college and career planning.

How do I obtain Transportation? If your child is registered in his/her school of attendance with the correct address information for the upcoming school year, and is eligible for transportation, bus card mailers have been mailed from the district since the first week of August.
How do I obtain Transportation? If you do not receive a mailer, and you live more than 2-miles from the school of attendance and/or otherwise eligible for transportation, please call your school of attendance for further information. Also, “newly registered” students may have to utilize an alternate method of transportation for up to 10 school days.

TRANSPORTATION OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION SESSIONS Saturday, August 14 – 10 am – 2 pm and Sunday August 15 – 1 pm – 3 pm
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES Students should not arrive on campus prior to 8:55 am. Before Care participants will receive an alternate arrival schedule. METHOD OF PROCESS ARRIVAL School Bus Riders Depart the Bus Loop Walkers Proceed on sidewalk on NORTH side of the building. Car Riders Proceed through Main Entrance Bike Riders Secure Bicycles on the NORTH side of the building
ARRIVAL Students must wear masks throughout the day. Masks are worn both in class and in common areas. Students should bring bottled water or a receptacle for storing water.
Food Services FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS! 21-22 Broward County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services (BCPSFNS) offers FREE breakfast and lunch meals for all BCPS students every school day at their school. All students are encouraged to Power Up to learn with nutritious school meals!

EXAMPLE LUNCH SCHEDULE 21-22 Students will follow the lunch schedule of their 2nd and 6th blocks.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES Due to Falcon Cove’s extensive course offerings, teachers will inform students about the required school resources needed to be successful in their respective courses. Information will be communicated during the first week of school.
MINDFULNESS INITIATIVE 1 Minute of Mindfulness (daily) is intended to support the social & emotional learning of our students and staff. PURPOSE: To cultivate the ability to be aware of the present moment with compassion and kindness toward oneself and others.
The District’s face covering policy, which requires the use of masks in District schools and facilities, remains in place.
SAFETY GUIDELINES If you are not feeling well, please REMAIN at HOME! Parents should contact the school to advise of a student’s absence due to illness. If a student has contracted the virus, follow the quarantine guidelines for isolation and quarantine.

DISMISSAL Dismissal will be “staggered” by building and areas on campus. Listen closely, for dismissal directives. Students will exit the building via the same routes used for arrival.
PARTICIPATION IN ATHLETICS GRADES Students must have an unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher to participate. PHYSICALS Physicals are REQUIRED for participation in FCMS Athletics. INSURANCE Athletes must submit a copy of the front and back of current insurance card every school year. BEFORE CARE AND AFTER CARE SERVICES THE COVE ACADEMY The Before and After School Child Care Program is known as the Cove Academy. Our program consists of a morning session that runs before school from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. The afternoon session runs after school, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The afternoon program also has extended hours on Early Release Days from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Students can participate in one or in both of the sessions. FALCON FRENZY Reminder Falcon Frenzy will be held on Friday August 13, 2021. We will have two sessions available for students to register; 9AM-11AM and 1PM-3PM. These sessions are designed for new students to learn about the school, tour our campus, and to learn important information for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will receive a Falcon Cove spirit t-shirt, snack, ID, and prizes! Go to our website for Registration Information! We can't wait to welcome you here in the Cove!
OPEN HOUSE Reminder Open House will be held on 2 dates to accommodate our families. Families are encouraged to participate either virtually or in-person.
