In Your mercy, deepen our sorrow for the wrong we have done and for the good we have left undone, so that we may hate our sin with a holy hatred. But, please Father, do not leave us in sorrow. CHARLES & ANNE MARIE SMOKER (Japan) MetaVenture (Business as Mission): Thank you for your prayers for the film festival which was held 10/2 and 10/3 downtown Tokyo. We had a great attendance of over 100 filmmakers, their cast & crew and family along with movie lovers and several downtown city pastors (including our own). Films screened at this year's festival included stories of father & daughter relationships, anime, comedy, grief, refugee, etc. One of the films was about choosing adoption vs abortion and this led to conversations with some filmmakers where Anne Marie was able to share a simple testimony. All the filmmakers were not yet believers and most of our volunteers were all believers. Pray with us as we continue in this ministry of creating a presence downtown Tokyo and using media to influence and make Kingdom connections. We are still busy with follow-up and have begun preparations forour next festival in April 2022. Our short film entries come from all over theworld so please connect us with your filmmaking friends! *Zachary was able to volunteer and helped lead some of the volunteers (photoabove).
1 THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS! (Family) We have been able to have an extended time in Japan with Ashley (she worked her USA job in Japan online) but will be returning toSeattle in a couple weeks. We are thankful that Kyle is doing well in Orlando, FL (working for Wycliffe Associates). (Campus Ministry) Charles is back teaching to hundreds of students whodo not know Christ. Pray for opportunities to speak into these hearts. Pray for the students who are introduced to the gospel through scripturememory. (Sports Ministry) Doors have opened for sports to begin again. Charleshas been coaching middle soccer. He coaches a team mixed with believing students and not yet believing students. Pray for softening of hearts and that Charles would continue to draw to Christ for patience, wisdom and opportunities to point the youth to Christ. We struggle daily to draw near to Christ. Please pray for our hearts to continue to be drawn to Christ alone, to strip us of our idols and to pursueholiness. Soli Deo Gloria, Charles & Anne Marie Please consider partnering with us! We are grateful for special one-time and/or monthly giving. Glints PO Box 962, Wheaton, IL 60187-0962 Email: camsmoker5@gmail.com
