Transport Information If you have not travelled in London before we suggest that you purchase an A-Z as soon as you arrive. They are very helpful and make getting around London a lot easier. A small book can be purchased at very reasonable costs. You can also use www.maps.google.co.uk/maps and type in the address you are looking for. To plan your journey to the college you can use the Transport for London Journey Planner on their website www.tfl.gov.uk by putting in post codes or addresses. This excellent site will give you journey times and maps, as well as fares. For timetables and how to get from A to B you can call London Transport on 020 7222 1234 for bus and underground information, or National Railways on 08457 484950 for information on train services (www.nationalrail.co.uk). We suggest that you look up the details for the Pay as You Go Oyster card, this is a touch-in, touch-out electronic travel pass for use on buses and tubes and with many national rail services into London. Alternatively, if you have a ‘Contactless’ debit card, this can be used and costs the same as using an oyster card. Using an Oyster card a single fare on the tube will be £2.40 in zones 1-2 compared with the £4.90 cash price. The bus will be £1.50 and there is a daily price cap of £4.40 in zones 1-2 on the buses. You can apply in advance online http://visitorshop.tfl.gov.uk/english/ introduction.htm. Please note prices as checked December 2016. Please note that cash payment is not accepted on London buses. You must present a valid travel card, Oyster card or Contactless debit card when boarding the bus.
Places to Eat and Local Amenities As I am sure you may be aware, eating out in London can be quite expensive but there are many familiar chains such as Wasabi, Pizza Hut, MacDonalds, M&S and KFC all easily found. Sandwich shops and coffee shops are plentiful for a quick bite at lunchtimes. The most choice can be found about 10 minutes walk away on Kilburn High Road, near the train station. There is also a Pizza Express and a café just around the corner from the college, along with a small convenience store.

Practical Assessment Students on the Early Years Educator course (EYE) and Introduction to Montessori Practice course (IMP) will take part in a practical assessment and professional discussion sessions during the Workshop. These are compulsory components of the workshop. Early Years Educator students will be assessed against a range of assessment criteria which will be either met or not met.
