Birthday Celebration
What better than a day, when the great leader was born. The heart and soul of NHEI Dr. Mohan Manghnani Birthday was
celebrated on 7th July 2018. On this auspicious occasion cake cutting ceremony was done and all the employees of the
NHEI was invited on this occasion. A hearty warming music and dance performance was given by the expert team made the
audience smile and enjoy with an unplugged performance.
Kargil Vijay Diwas @ NHCM
among the students of New Horizon College. The core
committee organised a function dedicated to the Kargil War
heroes. The event had 3 performances: a song dedicated to
the real heroes of India, a mime performance and followed by
a dance performance.
Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed by the students of New
Horizon College, Maratahalli on 26th July 2018 in Chanakya
Seminar Hall. Kargil Vijay Diwas was named after the success
of Operation Vijay. On 26 July 1999, India successfully
took command of the high outposts which had been lost to
Pakistani intruders.
The day is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the
Kargil War heroes and also to create a sense of patriotism

The very purpose of Fresher’s Day party is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere, and to encourage their creative

The event was celebrated with much excitement as Mr and Miss Fresher were chosen. Mr Yatish and Ms Tina were crowned
as Mr and Ms Fresher. The day also saw around 6 mesmerising performances put together by the core committee headed by
Venkatraman V K and Rachana Dharmesh K.

Intra-College Cricket Competition Report
An Intra-College Cricket Tournament was held by the sports captain of New Horizon College, Marathahalli.The inauguration
ceremony took place on 20th July, 2018 and a total of 20 teams took part in the tournament. The tournament went on till 2nd
August 2018. The chief guest for the inauguration ceremony was the HOD of the BCom department Ms Greeshma Francis
DQGWKH+2'RIWKH%%$GHSDUWPHQW0V6RXP\D-7KH¿QDOPDWFKWRRNSODFHRQQG$XJXVW
The winner of the tournament was V sem BBA(B) and the runners up V sem BCom (P&G). The principal of NHCM Dr R
Bodisathvan distributed the prizes to the winners.
Preparing CSE department students for the 5S Implementation
One of the most significant developments in recent times is giving more importance to the work place organization and
information management. Work place organization is a key to increase the effectiveness of teams and thereby organization.
Proper planning and management of information, ranging from personal data to organizations details and small information
to business prospects is necessary in the present world.
Every action is being recorded for future references, either in the form of softcopy or hard copies. Hence there is a need to
have a well-organized work place organization methodology in every part of the organization.
With this objective in mind, we have started implementing 5S in our CSE department by explaining the importance of a
