“Estaba todavía lejos, cuando su padre lo vio y se enterneció profundamente. Corrió hacia él, y echándole los brazos al cuello, lo cubrió de besos”. La parábola del hijo prodigo, el Padre misericordioso o como Benedicto XVI la llama, es la parábola preferida por muchos, ya que en esta parábola se refleja hasta “donde llega la Misericordia de Dios”, aunque la Misericordia de Dios no tiene limites. La imagen del hijo que le pide todo lo que le correspondía a su Padre, nos muestra lo más cruel que pueden tener los hijos con respecto a sus padres. Que un hijo le pida a un padre la parte de la herencia que le corresponde, es como decirle al Padre que se muera. Pedir la herencia en vida puede ser muy duro para un padre que nunca esperará, aunque le dejará todo a sus hijos, que un hijo le pida lo que le corresponde “en vida”. Esta situación muy dolorosa para muchos padres es muy actual, todos los días escucho sobre esto . Pero mirando el Evangelio me quiero detener en una imagen que para mi siempre fue fuerte; es la siguiente: Estaba todavía lejos, cuando su padre lo vio y se enterneció profundamente. Corrió hacia él, y echándole los brazos al cuello, lo cubrió de besos. Esto es lo que nos interpela, el Padre nunca dudo en manifestar su amor a su hijo, podemos ver como el Padre no duda en “correr entristecido”, el Padre corre, la unidad que hay entre ambos hace que el Padre sea atraído, movido y no se demore en ponerse en camino para saber que ha pasado todo este tiempo con el hijo; No es el hijo el que reacciona sino el Padre. El Padre es movido por el amor profundo. El padre se le “hecha a su cuello”, el signo del abrazo que manifiesta la profundidad del amor de una personas hacia otra, el padre lo abraza, el abrazo ha sido siempre entrelazar corazones, el abrazo es decirle al otro todo estará bien y yo estoy contigo, esto no es un concepto, es mi experiencia, la experiencia del abrazo sana las heridas provocadas por la vida y sostiene, aunque el otro no se de cuenta, de las sombras propias de la vida, de las heridas ocasionadas por el caminar cotidiano, el hijo estaba herido, no necesitaba palabras, necesitaba un abrazo que le haga experimentar que todo va a cambiar, el abrazo del Padre tiene un sentido profundo de sanación. Frente a esto el Hijo toma consciencia de su miseria, hay un movimiento en el corazón del hijo que no podemos entender pero si definir: es el movimiento de la sanación porque el hijo no está siendo sometido a un juicio sino a un acto de amor que mueve el corazón del joven imprudente. Pero esto dejará un antes y un después en la vida de este joven. Porque a pesar de su miseria el joven ahora no arriesgará más perder lo que realmente tiene un valor importante y objetivo: su Padre. Creo que estamos llamados a mirar esta imagen del hijo prodigo en Lucas 15 y darnos cuenta de hasta donde quiere llegar el amor de Dios en nuestras vidas. Este amor es el que no tiene limites. Es un amor que trasciende toda barrera que podamos imaginar. Pero así es el Padre, el no escatima nada, no se reserva nada, solo sale a nuestro encuentro y nos ama de una forma particular y esta forma particular es la del Padre. Ama, pero sin limites. Entonces fue a pedirle trabajo a un habitante de aquel país, el cual lo mandó a sus campos a cuidar cerdos. Tenía ganas de hartarse con las bellotas que comían los cerdos, pero no lo dejaban que se las comiera. Se puso entonces a reflexionar y se dijo: ‘¡Cuántos trabajadores en casa de mi padre tienen pan de sobra, y yo, aquí, me estoy muriendo de hambre! Me levantaré, volveré a mi padre y le diré: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y contra ti; ya no merezco llamarme hijo tuyo. Recíbeme como a uno de tus trabajadores’. Enseguida se puso en camino hacia la casa de su padre. Estaba todavía lejos, cuando su padre lo vio y se enterneció profundamente. Corrió hacia él, y echándole los brazos al cuello, lo cubrió de besos. El muchacho le dijo: ‘Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y contra ti; ya no merezco llamarme hijo tuyo’. Pero el padre les dijo a sus criados: ‘¡Pronto!, traigan la túnica más rica y vístansela; pónganle un anillo en el dedo y sandalias en los pies; traigan el becerro gordo y mátenlo. Comamos y hagamos una fiesta, porque este hijo mío estaba muerto y ha vuelto a la vida, estaba perdido y lo hemos encontrado’. Y empezó el banquete. El hijo mayor estaba en el campo y al volver, cuando se acercó a la casa, oyó la música y los cantos. Entonces llamó a uno de los criados y le preguntó qué pasaba. Éste le contestó: ‘Tu hermano ha regresado y tu padre mandó matar el becerro gordo, por haberlo recobrado sano y salvo’. El hermano mayor se enojó y no quería entrar. Salió entonces el padre y le rogó que entrara; pero él replicó: ‘¡Hace tanto tiempo que te sirvo, sin desobedecer jamás una orden tuya, y tú no me has dado nunca ni un cabrito para comérmelo con mis amigos! Pero eso sí, viene ese hijo tuyo, que despilfarró tus bienes con malas mujeres, y tú mandas matar el becerro gordo’. El padre repuso: ‘Hijo, tú siempre estás conmigo y todo lo mío es tuyo.
