HOOTERS// Ana @ Hooters Hi Folks, this pretty noddy looking car is heading Another successful Art Deco Festival, the overseas but at least we know it’s going to weather held out and the crowds seemed a good home. It is currently on route to it’s bigger than previous years. We had a crazy new owner in the UK. Martin Males the week with cruise ships in every day with owner of the Swallow side car company. lots of different people and a huge mix of nationalities wanting a drive round to experience the Art Deco atmosphere. It’s a shame that those over deco were not told they were arriving into the Art Deco Festival in full swing but all seemed to truly enjoy their day. We even met a few who went back to the ship to change and come back into town in more fitting deco attire. No rest for the wicked, we had a 12 car A huge thanks to our Steve D! He managed convoy the Monday after the festivities and to keep all cars working all week with two cruise ships in port too. Steve D has only a puncture of the bus being a hiccup been kept very busy on maintenance and but in true Art Deco style the Austin bus preparing the fleet for a 15 car convoy this stepped in and helped us out taking our weekend. The logistics and preparation for customers on a ride around whilst we fixed this one has been a challenge but we hope the puncture. our guests will thoroughly enjoy being part of the biggest ‘all Hooters’ convoy to date. The car rides on Saturday and Sunday went well and hopefully we helped get some Here’s a few of my favourite pics from deco: funds in for the club. We had a whopping 9 cars in the parade this year. We had the two commercials in the feature marque, 4 of Hooters finest open top tourers and then sadly, as a few of our entered friends had to drop out for various reasons we managed to get both V12 Lagonda’s and the Austin Swallow recently arrived in the shed. I thoroughly enjoyed having the pleasure myself of driving the 1930 Swallow in the parade, it’s final drive in New Zealand, a fitting final hoorah! Sad as it is that Well that’s it for another month, be seeing you… 19
