MEET OUR JUDGES MR. SEAN MARTIN I started out in dogs from the age of ten, we had racing greyhounds. I used to train these before and after school. When I moved out and got married I saw some Cavalier King Charles spaniels and liked the look of them. I did a bit of research into the breed and breeders. I then went to one of the top breeders in Ireland at that time. He didn’t show Cavaliers, he was just interested in the breed. I bought two female blenheims, one of them was my first champion, and I was hooked from then on. I am only a small kennel and only breed whenever I want another Cavalier to show for myself. My other interests are fly fishing and indoor short mat bowls. I have been in dogs for 40 years, breeding and showing. I have bred and made up over 20 Champions in Ireland. I have also bred Champions in England, Japan and AKC.CKCSC.USA. My Cavaliers have won Best in Show at All Breed Championship Shows and many group 1’s. I have also won many Best in Shows at Cavalier Club Shows. My Glencross Cavaliers have won The Cavalier Pup of the Year numerous times. Some wins I have achieved are as follows: Best in show with three different dogs at All Breed Championship Shows in Ireland. And a Best in show at a cavalier club show in England. Another accolade I have won (nobody in Ireland has ever done this) is to win at the Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales Cavalier Club Shows, with the same bitch in the same year - CH and Irish CH Glencross Kerrywood. I have also won Best Puppy in Show 4 times at All Breed Championship Shows, with 4 different puppies - this has never been done before. I have been the Top Breeder in Ireland 2013 ,14,15, 16, showing only 2 dogs in this time. CH and International CH Glencross De Ja Vu has been the Top cavalier in Ireland for last 4 years. He is also the breed record holder. I have also represented the Cavalier Club at the Irish Kennel Club. I have judged All Toys and Toy Group. I have judged Cavaliers in England, Wales, Norway, Belgium and USA (CMW & CNC) I am delighted to be invited to judge at your show. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and to seeing some nice Cavaliers. I would like to wish the exhibitors all the best and I hope everyone enjoys their day at the show
DELVYN (DEL) LUNN OBEDIENCE JUDGE I became involved in dog training in 1978. The first dog I trained was a German Shepherd. The training and exhibiting of this dog led to a career of over thirty years in dog training. In 1980 I purchased my first Golden Retriever from Meadowpond Goldens in Michigan. This again has led to breeding Goldens under the prefix “Goldunn”. I have trained my dogs through many obedience titles over the years. I am actively involved in obedience as an instructor at two facilities. In January 1999 I became a licensed Obedience judge and in 2007 a Rally judge. I have been fortunate to have judged in many venues in the U.S. Canada, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. I find judging another level of training where the experience is invaluable. I am currently the president of The Canadian Association of Obedience Trial Judges and a life member of the Canadian Kennel Club. I am currently training three dogs in all levels of obedience and rally.. In 1999 I retired after a thirty year career as a police officer with eleven years as a Chief of Police. I have been married to my wife Bev for forty years. I owe a lot to her as she supported my hobby for many years. I have two children a son and daughter who are both with the police service. I have one grandson who I am very proud of and who I enjoy spending time with. I wish the exhibitors the best of luck in your trials. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your club continued success.

MEET OUR JUDGE TANYA IRELAND (ELLEMICH) I was born in February 1974, and was pretty much born into the world of dog showing, as my mum bred and showed cavaliers. As far back as I can remember, dogs and showing dogs was, and still is my passion, growing up I showed many of my mum’s cavaliers and was more than happy to enter the ring for other people if asked. As I showed more and more I discovered I also had a love for griffon bruxellois and of course king Charles spaniel, I was honoured to handle griffons for the late Mrs Anne Fenn of the famous Starbeck kennel. At the age of 19 I went to stay at Shealagh Waters (maibee) to look after the dogs for a week, I ended up staying for 20 years, until shortly after Shealagh’s death. In that time I was lucky enough to work for and with Shealagh and her top winning cavaliers and king charles, in that time my love and knowledge grew and grew. One of my proudest days being when CH Maibee Theo (KCS) won the toy group at crufts. In more recent years I have joined forces with Michelle Chapman, and we share the Ellemich affix in cavaliers and king Charles spaniel. We have been lucky enough to own Ch Ellemich I’m a celebrity JW, who gained her crown at crufts 2017, she went on to win more lovely wins that year including BIS at The Humerside c.k.c.s club championship show and RBIS at The Northern c.k.c.s Club championship show before retiring for maternal duties. I am so excited and honoured to be judging, in what will be my first trip to Canada.
