Exhibitors’ conformation slips and judging programs will be mailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a
reasonable time prior to the show, notify the secretary. Conformation slips and judging programs returned by the Post Office
marked ‘undeliverable’ will be held by the Secretary.
During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly, in order that the
judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It
is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls
for the class.
Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side
of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. Rule books are available at the Secretary’s table at the show or may be
obtained from the AKC,5580 Centerview Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606.
Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from
competition by action of the Bench Show Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly.
There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry.
There is no provision offered for un-entered dogs at this show.
Declination of Entries. The Club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of
disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Kennel Club or any official thereof.
If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show,
no refund of entry will be made.
All dogs shall be kept on leash except when in the obedience or exercising ring or confined in crates.
The welfare of an exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that exhibitors will exercise
control and restraint over their children on the day of the show.

T he C lub offers an Aw ard of Merit to deserving Border C ollies for recognition of their quality. It is at the judge's disc retion
w hether to give all or none of the available Aw ards, up to 10% of the Border C ollie entry in the Best of Breed com petition.

Eligibility: The Puppy Sweepstakes is open to any purebred Border Collies who are six (6) months of age and under eighteen (18) months
of age and entered in any of the regular classes at the Specialty Show in which these Sweepstakes are held. After the completion
of individual class judging, each of the class winners shall be brought back to the ring for the awarding of Best in Puppy
Sweepstakes & Runner Up to Best in Puppy Sweepstakes Indicate "Puppy Sweepstakes" with the age division under "Additional
Classes". Champions of record may be entered. Professional Handlers may handle their own dogs.

Eligibility: The Veteran Sweepstakes is open to any purebred Border Collies who are 7 years & over on the day of the show. Dogs entered
in Veteran Sweepstakes do not have to be entered in a Regular Classes at the Specialty Show in which these Sweepstakes are
held. After completion of the individual class judging, each of the class winners shall be brought back to the ring for the awarding
of Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Runner Up to Best in Veteran Sweepstakes. Indicate "Veteran Sweepstakes" and age division
on the regular entry form under Additional Classes.

C LASS IFIC AT ION - T he Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age
and over but under six months on the day of the event. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit
in this class. Enter on the regular entry form as an "Additional C lass". C lasses will not be divided by sex
in this competition.
T he Certificate of Merit (C M) title is an introductory title to AKC conform ation events. Entrants in each breed
shall compete for Best of Breed and Best of O ppos ite Sex to Best of Breed. W inners of the Best of
Breed in each of the individual breeds or varieties will be awarded points toward the CM title based on
the number of dogs defeated in their breed. W inners of Best of O pposite Sex to Best of Breed in each
of the individual breeds will be awarded points towards the C ertificate of Merit (C M) title based on the
number of dogs defeated in their sex.
T he Certificate of Merit requires 15 points awarded in accordance with the following points structure.

C ertificate of Merit points may als o be earned in the FSS class, Miscellaneous C lass or the 4-to-6 Month
class held in conjunction with C hampionship dog shows.
ELIG IBILIT Y:
! AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be req uired f or entries of an AKC recognized
breed as listed in C hapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.
! A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.
! All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol.
! D ogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be
handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who
belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or
otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. D ogs m ay not be
exhibited by current assistants and household m embers of a professional handler.
JU D G IN G :
! Exhibitors should open the mouth of their puppy to show dentition for the judge to avoid transmission
of illness.
! Male puppies without 2 fully descended testicles need not be disqualified or excused but the judge’s
book must describe the condition and Certificate of Merit points must be withheld.
! D ogs with breed standard disqualifications should not be excused but may not receive placements.
H owever, dogs with age related disqualifications such as color (as related to age), height, teeth etc.
are permitted to receive awards in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy classes.
! D ogs must be excused for attacking a person or other dogs.
! N o dog is to be judged if it is brought into the ring bandaged, taped, glued or stitc hed anywhere
including ears or tail. T hese dogs must be excused from judging but, at the judge’s discretion, may
return to be judged after the tape or bandage is removed.
! Judges of this competition may also exhibit on the day(s) they judge.
! Visiting judges are not eligible to judge 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy competition.
D ealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this com petition. All applicable
rules found in R ules A pplying to D og Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these
regulations state otherwise.

TR OPHIES AN D PRIZES
Trophies and Prizes (including cash prizes) will be awarded in the judging rings to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered
to be the owner or agent of the owner. All claims for trophies and other prizes must be made in the judging ring before the completion of
the judging of the breed, and the Event Secretary advised at once in the event of any discrepancy. No award will be mailed. If a trophy listed
is unavailable, a trophy of equal or greater value will be awarded.

particular variety you are entering, i.e., C ocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASC O B, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding
13 in., over 13 in. but no t exceeding 15 in.), D achshunds (longhaired, sm ooth, w irehaired), C ollies (rough, sm ooth), Bull

of R ecord and dogs w hich, according to their owners’ records, have com pleted the requirem ents for a cham pionship,
but w hos e cham pionships are unconfirm ed. T he show ing of unconfirm ed C ham pions in Bes t of Breed com petition is
lim ited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show w here the dog com pleted the requirem ents for a cham pionship.

1. (Variety) if you are entering a d o g of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the
particular variety you are entering, i.e., C ocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASC O B, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding
13 in., over 13 in. but no t exceeding 15 in.), D achshunds (longhaired, sm ooth, w irehaired), C ollies (rough, sm ooth), Bull
T erriers (colored, w hite), Manchester T erriers (standard, toy), C h ih u a huas (sm ooth coat, long coat), English T oy
Spaniels (King C harles and R uby, Blenheim and Prince C harles), Poodles (toy, m iniature, standard).
2. T he follow ing categories of dogs m ay be entered and show n in Best of Breed com petition: D ogs that are Cham pions
of R ecord and dogs w hich, according to their owners’ records, have com pleted the requirem ents for a cham pionship,
but w hos e cham pionships are unconfirm ed. T he show ing of unconfirm ed C ham pions in Bes t of Breed com petition is
lim ited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show w here the dog com pleted the requirem ents for a cham pionship.
3. (Event C las s ) C onsult the classification in this prem ium list. If the event clas s in w hich you are entering your dog is
divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in w hich you are entering
your dog, i.e, age division, color division, w eight division.
4. A dog m us t be entered in the nam e of the person w ho actually ow ned it at the tim e entries for an event clos ed. If a
re gis te re d do g ha s b ee n acq uire d b y a new ow ner it m ust be entered in the nam e of its new ow ner in any event for w hic h
entries c lo s e d a fter the date of acquirem ent, regardless of w hether the new ow ner has received the registration
certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his nam e. State on entry form w hether transfer application has been
