Welcome Competitors to the 254th Hants County Exhibition! . Horses have been involved in the exhibition since the first one in 1765 beginning with horse racing and auctions. An oval track was constructed in 1771 for the horse races and the exhibitor that bought the greatest number of horses during the exhibition won a saddle, bridle, and a medal. The light horse show has developed over the years to where it is now with a mix of english, western, gymkhana, and driving divisions. In 2012, the “Dexter Construction Mary Henry Equi-Centre” was built to give competitors an improved facility for warm-up and winter riding protected from the weather. In 2019, new footing was implemented in the arena to further benefit the competitors and their horses. This change has received much positive feedback from all disciplines that have experienced it over the summer months. The Hants County Exhibition is looking to continually improve the facility to create a better experience for all competitors and the general public. We are happy to announce that Hants County Exhibition will be a Scotia Series pointed show again this year through NSEF. We are excited to bring back some of the favourites including the Hants County Jumper Challenge and the Walter McLean Memorial Horsemanship Challenge. We also are introducing some new classes this year with the Hooves, Paws & Boots Showdown, the Bits N Bridles Hunter Classic and the Low Handy Hunter Stake. There will be beautiful ribbons and championship prizes offered again this year, along with exceptional prize money. We hope to see you at the 254th Hants County Exhibition!
