FALLS CREEK SLED DOG CLASSIC A Fabulous Spectacle I t’s the first week of August and Mushers from all over Australia are travelling to Falls Creek for this weekend’s 8th Annual Sled Dog Classic – the premier alpine dog sled race in this country. This really is a unique event - the only sled dog race through an Alpine Village. After an exhibition event in 2010, the race is now in its 8th year and is a must see Falls Creek Resort experience. The event is a National Open pointscore race, accredited by the Australian Sled Dog Sports Association (ASSA) and in 2018 will see elite teams of Alaskan Huskies, Siberian Huskies, Eurohounds and Alaskan Malamutes compete for prizemoney and the coveted first place titles in six dog, four dog, three dog and two dog classes. We have teams travelling from Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, Born to run in the snow, the sled dog teams will provide a fabulous spectacle this weekend.
