DISABELD WINTERSPORT AUSTRALIA Women’s Camp Meanwhile Katie, who was with Jeff and Hans was progressing well in her sit ski. THE MCKAYOS A Curious Event M cKayos is a curious event for an Australian ‘ski resort.’ Mountain bikes and snow are typically separate beasts so the concept to combine the two in a hybrid mountain bike race on snow is a unique idea to say the least. On October 6, 2018 – the final weekend of the snow season, at least 150 riders will take to the slopes of Falls Creek for the 4th, and biggest, event in the format yet. CROSS COUNTRY NEWS Nutritional Importance T his week I caught up with the current Australian National Team Nutritionist Sophie Stanwell. She is completing her degree at University of Canberra and has chosen to publish a thesis on Cross Country Skiing. To do this she has been working very closely with the Australian Ski Team here at Falls Creek! This last week the team has been staying at FCRM Horseshoe apartments and skiing for many many hours on the September Training Camp. AUSTRALIAN INTERSCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS Our Talented Twelve T welve students from Falls Creek Primary School travelled to Perisher last week to compete in the Subaru Australian Interschools Championships in seven different disciplines. The weather ranged from sweltering sunshine to torrential rain, but all the students put in their very best effort and had a lot of fun, and there were also some excellentWINTER results.
