Phonics
In Key Stage One , we learn about books. We use our phonics
(sound knowledge) to begin to read words. As the children’s
confidence grows we work on the children’s fluency and
comprehension skills.

►   Here at Raynham, we teach phonics using
    the “Letters and Sounds” programme.

    reinforce the each sound.

► They   need to read these quickly on sight.
