# These teach them that no work is too small or menial. # They help them to be organized. # They make the children independent and confident. # Not only do they build good work ethics, but also make them feel important, helpful and even responsible. Here is a list of activities that your children should be encouraged to do during the vacation. Make their beds and tidy their rooms This habit is more than just a chore. When the bed is set straight and the room is neat, it brings peace into the room. It means the day has already begun on a productive note. Helping with the cooking Take them to the market when you buy vegetables and fruits. Carry a jute or a cloth bag with you. Let them be aware of the cost of things. Once they are brought home, they can sort them, wash them and store them in the fridge. Allow them to help you with the cooking. Let them make their own sandwiches and salads. Meal Time Help Have the children help set the plates, cutlery and the dishes. Helping to clear away after the meal and washing the plates is done to instill dignity of labour.
Putting away the Laundered Clothes They can help to fold small clothes like socks, handkerchiefs, vests, under garments and stacking them in the correct place. This teaches them to be organized and to be accountable. They know where their things are kept so they won’t bother you. Visit Grandparents Let them bond with their elders and grandparents by playing with them, helping them and listening to stories. Their love and support is very important to your child. Let’s send these things for a vacation Keep your children away from excessive TV, mobile phones, computers and other electronic gadgets; they have their whole life for that. Outdoor Play Allow your children to play outdoors. It does not matter if they get dirty or hurt. It’s ok for them to fall down and experience some pain once in a while. Hope you and your children have a wonderful vacation together! Thank you (The above pages are not to be printed) Download, print and solve the worksheets given below
