The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Ripon
It is my great honour as Mayor to invite you all to celebrate with
us as we mark the momentous occasion of the Platinum Jubilee
of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Ripon has a long association with our Royal family and we have
welcomed them here many times in recent decades.
I am sure that everyone has seen the wonderful work of Ripon
Community Poppy Project in the displays around the city. I
know you will join me in thanking the knitters and volunteers
who have worked so hard to make this happen. We are really
grateful to RCPP who have arranged the beacon and national
element on Thursday evening, as well as the Sunday event.
We hope you enjoy what the City has to offer on this very special
weekend.

I would like to thank the staff at Ripon City Council for their
hard work and support in helping to deliver what I hope will be
a memorable event for everyone.
We have tried our very best to ensure that there is something
for everyone, so whether you are three or a hundred and three,
there is something for you. We are even providing 250 seats on
the Market Square during the day.

Ripon City Council welcomes you to a FREE four-day programme of events. Alongside a packed line-up of fabulous local singers and solo/group tribute acts performing on stage throughout the day and until 11.30pm in the evening, Thursday to Saturday, Ripon Market Place will host a big screen, broadcasting events in London over the weekend, with temporary seating provided during the day. Children can enjoy free fairground rides all day Thursday to Saturday, with a Twister ride suitable for adults open from Thursday teatime until Saturday night. There’ll also be a variety of street entertainment to enjoy, with magician Rob Hutchinson, Punch and Judy shows, and face-painting in the Cabmen’s Shelter. On Sunday, pack your picnic, dig out that folding chair and head down to Ripon Spa Park with all the family for a Jubilee afternoon of band music and entertainment.
