Operations Board Crispian STEWRAT Rotorua Lakes Council Kia ora, I have been fortunate to be involved in the Events and Venue Industry for 25 years. It started in Palmerston North and has taken me to the UK, Napier, Australia, Tauranga, Japan and Rotorua. Some memorable events include overseeing Rotorua’s city delivery of the Rugby WC 2011, Venue Manager for Te Matatini 2013, Event Manager of World Rafting Championships 2013 in NZ, attracting and delivering the Lions v Maori Rugby Fixture 2017 and Venue Manager of Tuhoe Ahurei 2018. I have no doubt that when I do a similar bio after 2022 that I will be adding the APES Games 2022. This will be a unique experience which presents an exciting event deliver challenge to be a part of. And also, what a neat way to celebrate our Trans Tasman rivalry, our amazing BOP region, and recognise our essential services that have looked after our communities. I have been involved with many great events in the past with some personal highlights being the 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2017 British and Irish Lions v Māori All Blacks match, 2013 World Rafting Championships, and the 2011 Rugby World Cup matches in Rotorua;. Dave WISHNOWSKY New Zealand Police I joined the New Zealand Police in 1996 and have served the last 24 years in my home province of Manawatu. Twenty of those years were in the CIB and ten as a Detective Sergeant. I have been a member of NZ Police Sport throughout my career, the Central District Sports Officer since 2008, a NZ Police Sport National Committee member since 2015 and became the New Zealand Delegate to the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games Federation in 2019. I have played many sports throughout my life and remain active in the select few that my knees still allow me to participate in. I have been the manager and organiser of a number of Manawatu based charity events for many years and am looking forward to the massive challenge that the Australasian Police and Emergency Games 2022 presents. I have no doubt that the contribution of all the talented people involved along with the incredible locations and facilities that the Bay of Plenty offers, will set us up for an extraordinary event and one that will be remembered for many years ahead. See you there! Graham PERKS New Zealand Police Senior Sergeant Graham Perks has been a police officer for 27 years in Britain and New Zealand, working in operational, investigation, supervisory and management roles. He is a district deployment co-ordinator at the Bay of Plenty District Command Centre. Through his participation in triathlon events since 1998, Graham has been a member of the Triathlon New Zealand (Tri NZ) Board since 2014 and was president for three years until September. He has represented New Zealand as a competitor and in a governance role at several international triathlon events. From 2015 to 2018 he was president of the Rotorua Association of Triathletes and from 2017 to 2019 he was the event director for the two-day Blue Lake Multisport Festival. Tracey McCARTHY New Zealand Police Sergeant Tracey McCarthy works in Northland District. She has been a police officer for more than 17 years, including in Counties Manukau and Wellington. She has been involved with Police Sport on local committees and as a member of the National Committee. She is involved in organising the Police Association Winter Games tournament being hosted in Northland in August 2021. Tracey will run all the games’ events, including the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony, the Torch Relay, social events and hubs, services recruitment events and the Partners Programme. Michelle CHAPMAN New Zealand Police Volunteer manager Michelle Chapman has worked for Police for 14 years in various Police employee roles, including as PA to Whangarei-Kaipara area commander Inspector Justin Rogers, and is a member of the Criminal Justice Support Unit at Whangarei Police Station. She has been involved with many Police Sport events, including waka ama and netball. Volunteers are an integral part of the event and Michelle says she excited to be part of a team that helps bring people together such a large-scale and respected sports event. Dave GALLAGHER APES 2022 Dave has a lifetime of being involved in sport. He has worked in education, high performance sport, sport science and sport management across several groups, including the University, Professional Sport and Services Industries. In addition to his role as an ANZPGF Director Dave has been appointed Games Director/CE for the 2022 APES Games and is very much looking forward to hosting you all in Rotorua.
