We won’t have school, but we still need to shape our days so that we are busy enough during the day to sleep well at night. People need to feel meaningful and like they are achieving something each day in order to feel happy. Achieving something might mean having seven lie-ins in a row, and that is totally fine. But it might not be enough on its own to keep you feeling your best, or to help you to get the best out of your school-free time.

Set yourself a letter challenge – spread some love by writing and posting a letter to someone different for each of the five days off. Filling another person’s bucket, will fill yours too. It’s scientifically proven!
Write, costume, direct and present a play or show for your family. It can be live to your audience, a video, or even over Zoom for your Granny. Creating something and having a record at the end of it is a challenging but very rewarding experience.
Build a LEGO town.
Five new ways to walk. Find and walk or cycle five different routes in your area. Make maps of where you have been adding in the landmarks you saw along the way. Send them to someone in your area, and perhaps swop a few.
One-off wonders - once-off fun activities.
Build giant forts inside and outside.
Be creative and time you and your Challenge a friend to create one too, siblings moving through it. and swop videos and ideas. Indoor or outdoor obstacle course.
Science experiments!
Make silly signs or affirmations to pop up around your house. These can create a temporary change of scenery and make you and your family smile too.
Surprise a neighbour with a baked gift or a card. We are not the only ones bored on lockdown at home. Spread some cheer and fill your own bucket by filling someone else’s. Remember social distancing and sanitising if you are going anywhere near someone else, and make sure anything you give them can be quarantined.
Home-made marble runs!
Deep-clean your bedroom. When things are a bit uncertain, taking control over something can be calming. Maybe you have seen Get Organised with The Home Edit on Netflix or heard of Marie Kondo. The Home Edit team love rainbow organising. Marie Kondo loves folding to make our homes happier. Taking control over your space and sorting it out the way you want it can feel like a worthwhile achievement and make you better too!
Alternative-fashion fashion show. Grab old blankets, towels, dress-up gear, or all the special occasion clothes we are not wearing and put on a show. Don’t forget the lighting, music, catwalk and seating.
It’s always a good idea to choose a theme or game just like we have been doing in our Zoom social Zooms to get people started. with your Remember, always ask permission from your adults before getting online, and let a friends. trusted adult know about any behaviour, images or chat that makes you feel uncomfortable.
