Warren Golf & Country Club Warren Tidings - November / December 2018 golf 4D3N Inter-Club Golf Trip to Malaysia 5 - 8 October 2018 A group of 30 golfers went on this trip and played at four reciprocal clubs namely Seremban International Golf golf Club, Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club, Ayer Keroh Country Club and Kluang Country Club. The hospitality extended to us from these clubs were top-notch! Before the final game at Kluang Country Club, our golfers also had the chance to visit an old shop which sells the traditional Chinese handmade pastry “tau sah piah”. The main objective of these inter-club trips is to cultivate friendship with golfers from our reciprocal clubs and we are sure this trip did just that. What is also interesting is that aside from making new friends from our reciprocal clubs, our members also develop new friendships with their fellow Warren members! Group shot on the final day at Kluang Country Club “Overall, the trip was very enjoyable. Thanks to Sheila, Amri and the support staff from Warren who have made this trip a memorable one.” - Richard Baey “This was certainly one of the most enjoyable and fun-filled trips. Many thanks to Jack, Sheila and Amri, and not forgetting President and Captain who have done Warren proud!” - John Ng “Heartfelt thanks to the Organising Committee namely Jack, Sheila and Amri. Ivy and I enjoyed the trip wholeheartedly although we were physically tired without much training. The weather was good except that it was a little wet on the last day at Kluang Country Club. The company was excellent and everyone was cooperative, making the trip pleasant and memorable.” - Ow Soon Hock Group photo at Ayer Keroh Country Club Cake-cutting by Social Convenor Jaclyn Ng, Captain Yee Woon Yim and President Charles Teo with Seremban International Golf Club Cheers to great friendship! Warren Golf & Country Club Warren Tidings - November / December 2018 Ready Golf! golf Introducing “Ready Golf” is a commonly used term which indicates that players should play when they are Pace of Play Ready Golf ready to do so, rather than adhering strictly to the “farthest from the hole plays first” stipulation in the Rules of Golf. golf for Stroke Play “Ready Golf” is not appropriate in match play due to the strategy involved between opponents and the need to have a set method for determining which player plays first. However, in stroke play format, it is only the act of agreeing to play out of turn to give one of the players an advantage that is prohibited. On this basis, it is permissible for administrators to encourage “ready golf” in stroke play, and there is strong evidence to suggest that playing “ready golf” does improve the pace of play. In summary, below are three simple tips that will help to speed up the pace of play: A. Stay within one shot of the group in front of you B. Hit when ready and SAFE to do so (no honour system) C. Continue putting until you hole out Remember, “Ready Golf” applies EVERYWHERE on the golf course such as on the tees, on the fairways and on the greens.
