While the gallery’s much-heralded Love Stories exhibition has sadly been postponed due to COVID-19, the gallery has unveiled Australian Love Stories - a ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ style interactive game where online visitors are guided through the gallery in an “interactive storybook of Australian devotion, family ties, close friendships, passion and lust”. The bulbs and annuals normally planted out in the Park have been spread across the city for locals to enjoy with the event renamed Floriade: Reimagined. Interstate visitors can still have a taste of the spring flower festival, with a number of events and activities offered online on the Floriade Australia website. In addition, there is a virtual marketplace where many of the market vendors will have a presence. It is hoped that the event in its traditional event will return in 2021, public health regulations permitting.

The ACT Government has waived entry feeds to encourage visitors to return to the park and take a short break in the ACT. Following both fire and floods, repair work recently undertaken has seen the installation of new viewing platforms on trails, paths revamped and upgrades made to the koala enclosure. The Nil Desperandum Homestead and walking trail is being upgraded and currently remain closed but all other areas remain open. Across the September school holidays from 29 September to 10 October, Tidbinbilla will host the popular Wildfest Pop Up Family Wilderness Camp where families can camp out in tents and enjoy a catered night out with wildlife and nature experiences. The 110-seater restaurant boasts an interior design conceived by Derlot, with a colour palette dominated by pink, from the custom-made furnishings to the neon light fixtures. An elaborate light feature – shaped like a cloud of ping-pong balls – adds pops of white above diner’s heads, while three pink picnic tables will sit outside for breezy feasting.
