IDC News Jakarta Indonesia 2018 As previously advised. IDC will hold its Convention in Jakarta, Indonesia from 21st to 24th September 2018. Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world consisting of thousands of large and small islands - according to data from the Ministry of Interior, in 2010, as many as 17,504 islands. Because of its natural beauty, Indonesia has become a popular destination for tourists, but it is also rich in culture with various tribes living in Indonesia in harmony and peace, each having its own characteristics as well as distinctive culinary in each territory. Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia, but it is also a special territory enjoying the status of a province, consisting of Greater Jakarta. Located on the northern coast of West Java, it is the centre of government, commerce and industry and has an extensive communications network with the rest of the country and the outside world. Strategically positioned in the archipelago, the city is also the principal gateway to the rest of Indonesia. Founded in the early 16th century harbour town of Sunda Kelapa, it was re-named Jayakarta, meaning Glorious Victory on June 22, 1527. The Dutch East Indies Company, which captured the town and destroyed it in 1619, changed its name to Batavia and made it the centre for the expansion of their power in the East Indies. Shortly after the outbreak of World War II the name of the city was changed to 'Jakarta'. Our Convention Hotel, the Alila Hotel SCBD, is located in the heart of Jakarta enabling you to experience the city by exploring Jakarta’s bustling ethnic enclaves, its most famous antiques market, and its rich and varied arts scene, or just take a stroll through the botanical gardens. This convenient location combined with flexible spaces and state-of-the- art support facilities for exclusive business meetings together with the hotels distinctive approach to creating Jakarta events, makes Alila, Jakarta the ideal meeting place. Our President for 2018 is Mr Marcus Taslim of Jeeves Indonesia. In 1969, Sydney Jacobs opened up the original Jeeves shop in Belgravia Square, in the heart of London’s prestigious embassy area and close by Buckingham Palace. Inspired by the legendary Jeeves of P.G. Wodehouse fame, Mr. Jacobs wanted to provide a service reminiscent of the old-time valets, the gentleman’s gentleman. Jeeves reputation for unparalleled service and spotless quality grew rapidly. during the 70s and, in 1974, the company was registered and authorised to sell franchises in foreign countries. Jeeves of Belgravia’s spotless service, attention to detail, and Mr Marcus Taslim technical know-how is also available in London, New Jeeves Indonesia York, Hongkong, Bahrain, Singapore, Macao and President IDC 2018 Manila.
