Wednesday, October 20, Day 4: PAPAL AUDIENCE – CROSSROADS OF
CHRISTIANITY
Following breakfast, we walk to Vatican City, where we attend the Papal Audience in the
morning. After the audience, we have time for shopping and enjoy lunch at Satiricus Restau-
rant. This afternoon we begin our guided tour of Christian Rome, including visits to St. John
Lateran and the Holy Stairs. We also visit St. Mary Major Basilica, where we celebrate Mass.

Thursday, October 21, Day 5: ST. PETER’S BASILICA
This morning we walk to Vatican city to celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by a
guided tour of the Basilica. We are also fortunate to have a private tour of the Scavi tunnels
underneath the Vatican (TBC). We transfer to the Trevi Fountain, and the afternoon is at
leisure to explore Rome and enjoy an independent dinner. Overnight in Rome. (B.)
Friday, October 22, Day 6: ASSISI – TUSCANY
Following breakfast, we check out of our hotel and drive through Umbria until we reach Assi-
si, the city of birds and silence. Our visits include St. Clare Church and St. Francis Cathedral.
After free time for lunch and shopping, we Celebrate Mass at one of the chapels in the Ca-
thedral. On our way out of Assisi, we stop to visit St. Mary of the Angels to see the Porziun-
cola. Leaving the lush landscape of Umbria for the rolling hills and cypress trees of Tuscany,
we arrive at Relais Borgo San Luigi, a fantastic villa, our home for the next four nights. (B. D.)
