HOLY REDEEMER CHURCH 14TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME July 4, 2021 5:00 Vigil Mass (July 3), 8:00 Mass, 10:00 Mass, 12:00 Mass Entrance Hymn | Christ, Be Our Light
Sign of the Cross and Greeting Penitential Act Glory to God
First Reading | Ezekiel 2:2-5 As the LORD spoke to me, the spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard the one who was speaking say to me: Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have revolted against me to this very day. Hard of face and obstinate of heart are they to whom I am sending you. But you shall say to them: Thus says the LORD GOD! And whether they heed or resist—for they are a rebellious house—they shall know that a prophet has been among them. Responsorial Psalm | Psalm 123:1-4 Second Reading | 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Brothers and sisters: That I, Paul, might not become too elated, because of the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, to beat me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. Gospel Acclamation The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he sends me to bring glad tidings to the poor. Gospel | Mark 6:1-6 Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples. When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They said, “Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Profession of Faith | Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Prayer of the Faithful | Response: Lord, hear our prayer. Offertory Hymn | This Is My Song 1. This is my song, O God of all the nations, A song of peace for lands afar and mine. this is my home, the country where my heart is; Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine. But other hearts in other lands are beating With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine. 2. My country’s skies are bluer than the ocean, And sunlight beams on cloverleaf and pine. But other lands have sunlight too, and clover, And skies are everywhere as blue as mine. So hear my song, O God of all the nations, A song of peace for their land and for mine. 3. This is my prayer, O Lord of all earth’s kingdoms; your kingdom come; on earth your will be done. Let Christ be lifted up so all shall serve him, And hearts united learn to live as one. So hear my prayers, O God of all the nations. Myself I give you; let your will be done.

Communion | All Who Hunger An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Recessional Hymn | Love Divine, All Loves Excelling Music & Reprint Acknowledgements Entrance Hymn: Text: Bernadette Farrell, b. 1957.
