June18/19,2022 Happy Father’s Day Hallelujah! Blessed the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commands. His descendants shall be mighty in the land, a generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house; his righteousness shall endure forever. Light shines through the darkness for the upright; gracious, compassionate, and righteous. It is good for the man gracious in lending, who conducts his affairs with justice. For he shall never be shaken; the righteous shall be remembered forever. He shall not fear an ill report; his heart is steadfast, trusting the LORD. His heart is tranquil, without fear, till at last he looks down on his foes. Lavishly he gives to the poor; his righteousness shall endure forever; his horn shall be exalted in honor. The wicked sees and is angry; gnashes his teeth and walks away; the desire of the wicked come to nothing. - Psalm 112-

CONTRIBUTION FROM FATHER MIKE’S DESK SUMMARIES A couple of things this week. 4-Week Average First, if you happened to glance down while walking across the parking lot last $17,657.61 weekend, you no&ced ... the parking lot! It's been redone! Online Giving Of course, as they say, things like this "don't just happen." They happen because people work May $53,565.11 hard and fulfill their respec&ve roles in the life of a parish. For instance, when the Saint Martha June TD $29,790.89 Parish and School Finance Council was recons&tuted several years ago, Mary Doster (chair), Luann Dunsford, Ron Lenz, Dave McAlvey, Ralph Shaheen, and Tom Smith generously agreed In Person Giving to serve. As terms have expired, Tom and Luann were replaced by Dave Maluchnik and Gigi May 22 $6,443 Ma&as. This summer, Mary will be replaced by Jesse Lothamer. Other key Saint Martha Maintenance $131 parishioners have been Director of Opera&ons Don Morgan and diocesan auditor Kimberly Keefe. May 29 $6,295 Maintenance $120 These Saint Martha parishioners have cared for your generous contribu&ons and watched closely over the parish finances through these years. And thus we were able to do the parking lot June 05 $7,319.42 without a separate fundraising campaign. If you like the parking lot (or any of the other things Maintenance $29 we have been able to do), find one of these people, and thank him or her! June 12 $7,076 And then thank someone else siVng near you. Because it's the generous support of parishioners Maintenance $200 like yourself that ul&mately makes these things possible. Large donors and small, each is treasured, and each moves us forward in our Gospel mission. Thank you! Second, we're more than halfway through June. By the &me you read this, it is possible that the United States Supreme Court will have issued its decision in Dobbs. If not, then it's coming EASY GIVING soon. If the opinion goes the way of the leaked dra;, then we finally can say goodbye to Roe v ELECTRONICALLY Wade and Casey v Planned Parenthood. As we know, this won't mark the end of the abor&on Visit debate. It will instead be the beginning, since the Court is evidently planning to follow the U.S. st-martha.org/howtogive Cons&tu&on and return this ques&on to the fi;y state legislatures. or Scan this QR Code The months and years to come will be a &me for prayer, fas&ng, and loving. Dark forces are at work. The toll in this na&on is thought to be in the vicinity of 63,000,000 souls who never saw light, never took a breath of air, killed in the womb. Their silent cries join with the anguish of the mothers and fathers who, seeing what they have done, now mourn &ll end of days. with your phone camera Those mothers and fathers are vic&ms, too, and must be given our full compassion. Too o;en, and click on the internet in fear and uncertainty, they accepted the lies told about abor&on by those who support this link that pops up ghastly prac&ce. And so our response must always be kind, gentle, and loving. Young couples o;en seek abor&on because they mistakenly see no alterna&ve. For that reason and others, as Catholic Chris&ans, we need to demonstrate the untruth of the pro-abor&on canard that we supposedly care about life only during the nine months of pregnancy. We must For a variety of ways to never fail to generously support young mothers both before birth and in the years that follow. support us, and for our There will be more to say a;er Dobbs is decided.
