Heyhouses News Happy Christmas! At the end of another very special year for Heyhouses I would like to wish all our families a very Happy Christ- mas. The chil- dren have been greatly looking forward to the holiday. Governors, staff and pupils hope that everyone is able to enjoy the time away from work and school and return re- freshed in the new year. 2018 has been a special year in the life of Heyhouses, we have many very spe- cial memories to look back over. The school grounds have been enhanced with the Eco Pod and the Infant Pirate ship. Heyhouses Pod has made a huge dif- ference to the clubs and groups linked to our school. The Pirate ship has al- ready provided hours of play opportunities to our youngest children. MAD Fes- tival was a hi-light and the Lions of Zululand stand out as an amazing experi- ence for all at Heyhouses. We hope they will soon be able to return. To the parent body, thank you for your kindness and support over the last twelve months, your understanding and loyalty has been greatly appreciated. Thank you to the PTA for all their fundraising for school, the huge amount they have raised is testament to their hard work and the generosity of so many friends of Heyhouses. Our school continues to go from strength to strength. We hope and pray that 2019 will be a happy and peaceful new year for everyone. Happy Christmas to all our Heyhouses families and friends. May the Peace of the Christ Child fill you with all joy and happiness this Christmas tide.
Well done children! The children had a wonderful time dashing around school. There were some very funny images captured on the day of elves nipping around the field, wandering back into the infants and sitting to- gether in the hall! It was great to take part in something so memorable. The giant conga we made had everyone smiling and certain- ly kept us all warm! There are more pictures of the day later in the newslet- ter. Thank you to everyone who supported the day. HEYHOUSES CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE TOMORROW 1:30P.M. AT ST ANNES PARISH CHURCH ALL WELCOME Page 2
Thank you for supporting our Christmas Jumper Day. We had a great deal of fun in our woolly festive wear! YEAR 6 CHRISTMAS MARKETS THANK YOU SO MUCH TO YEAR 6 FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK THIS WEEK AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKETS! The children are busy adding their takings and we will let everyone know how much they raised very soon! Please make sure your child has a coat in school at all times. Hats and gloves are advisable at the moment. If the weather worsens at all this winter wellingtons or boots would be needed at playtimes. They need to make sure that they have a pair of shoes to change into when they are in school. Thank you. Autumn Term 2 Page 3
FOOTBALL NEWS On Friday 16th November some Year 6 boys entered a football competition at Poolfoot Farm in Fleetwood. It was called the EFL kids Cup. We played three games in the group stage and we won all of them without conceding a goal. After we played our three games we had some food. When we had finished our lunch, we had a game where if you lost you were knocked out of the com- petition. Unfortunately we lost that game 1-0. We had a very good time at the competition even though we didn’t win. The reason we went to the compe- tition was to have fun and win! By Jack Trafford
GIRLS’ FOOTBALL NEWS Year 5 and 6 Girls Football Competition On Friday 23rd November we took 10 Year 5 and 6 girls to a football competi- tion at Mill Farm where AFC Fylde play. We were allowed 6 players on the pitch so we kept swapping around. I was the goalkeeper. We played 12 games. We played 5 in the first round and we won 4 of them. The rest got harder but we carried on playing well and we got all the way to the final. Unfortu- nately we lost against Clifton Primary School. We all had a great afternoon and worked well as a team. Thank you to Mr. Nay and Mrs. England for taking us. By Ellie-May
