VCE Provides pathways to: • University Courses • TAFE Courses • Independent Tertiary Colleges • Traineeships • Apprenticeships • Employment Completing VCE provides you with an ATAR
VCAA Requirements A VCE requires a minimum of • 16 units in total • 4 sequences (8 units) of Units 3 & 4 • 1 sequence must be from the English group • Unit 1 OR Unit 2 from the English group

Accelerated Studies Potential benefits Only do a Unit 3 & 4 • Gives you a taste of sequence if: Year 12 • You want to • Can give you a small • You have developed bonus in your ATAR good organisation skills • You have already completed the corresponding Unit 1 & 2 sequence
VET • VET units have the same status as VCE units • VET certificates usually need 2 years to complete the certificate … need to be started in Year 10 or 11 • VET certificates are nationally accredited • Receive a statement listing all competencies achieved • Scored certificates contribute directly to your ATAR
VET Scored VET subjects offered at CSC include: Certificate III in Community Services Certificate II in Engineering Studies Certificate II in Kitchen Operations Certificate III in Music Industry Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation The other VET certificates offered at CSC are: Certificate II in Building and Construction Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology
Australian School-Based Apprenticeships An SBA involves part time work (1 or 2 days per week) as part of the student program An SBA can be included in your VCE
VCAL • It’s about becoming work ready and developing self management, communication and team skills • Work in teams on group projects • Work with the community and industry • All types of students are catered for in VCAL • It is a flexible and student-centred program that allows you to explore career pathways As a ‘rule-of-thumb’ what students get out of VCAL is proportional to the effort they put in.
VCAA Requirements A VCAL requires a minimum of • 2 units of Literacy • 2 units of Numeracy • 2 units of Work Related Skills • 2 units of Personal Development • 1 VET unit (90 hours) VCAL can be awarded at Foundation, Intermediate or Senior Levels
