Glenmore News 17 May 2017 Week 4 Term 2 Mother’s Day Breakfast and Stall Despite heavy clouds and a few drops of rain last Friday morning, the weather held for a very busy Mothers’ Day breakfast and stall. Many thanks once again to Lisa Brown and her P&C team for seamless organisation and a great morning. Thank you also to Alun Evans and Tony Sparks who arrived to serve drinks and banana bread to our mothers. You Can Do It Our senior students took on the role of teacher yesterday morning to instruct the rest of the students in getting along strategies. Getting along is the term focus for our social/emotional learning program, You Can Do It. Class Timetables and School Communication There have been a number of parent requests for class timetables so term 2 timetables will be available for download later this week. One of the school council goals for this year is to evaluate communication strategies used by the school. Later in the term we’ll be sending out a parent survey on school communication to see how it is accessed and the level of use. Once we’ve collected the data we’ll have a better idea of how communication channels are used and whether improvements can be made. Please remember timetables are a guide only and will change from time to time according to need. Afternoon Pick up Just a reminder that parents are not to pick up students by car from Gurner Lane in the afternoons. Gurner Lane has a lot of pedestrian traffic and is a no parking zone. If you are using the Kiss and Drive zone on Cambridge Street, please stop as close as possible to the car in front and move down as soon as the car in front of you leaves. The idea is to move as many cars as possible quickly and safely through the zone and avoid parents queuing. If there’s no room at the top of the zone, please do a circuit of the block. Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to pick up a student while double parked.
