WITHDRAWAL FROM AN H3 TAUGHT MODULE What is the procedure for withdrawal? (…/1) You will have to approach your H3 School Co-ordinator for the official MOE withdrawal form.
WITHDRAWAL FROM AN H3 TAUGHT MODULE What is the procedure for withdrawal? (…/2) You are to complete and sign the official MOE Withdrawal Form. You will also have to obtain the acknowledgement of your parent / guardian as well as your H3 School Co-ordinator. Submit the official MOE Withdrawal Form to your H3 School Co- ordinator. Your H3 School Co-ordinator will fax the withdrawal form back to NTU on your behalf.
COURSE SCHEDULE How will I know when I should attend lessons for my NTU H3 Taught Module? You can view your course schedule online at: http://www.ntu.edu.sg/TalentOutreach -> H3 Programmes -> H3 Taught Modules -> H3 Taught Modules – Resources for Students Also do remember to log onto your NTULearn account regularly to check for updates.
ATTENDANCE Is it compulsory for me to attend all lectures, tutorials and laboratory lessons listed in my course schedule? All lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions listed in your course schedule are strictly compulsory. Students are expected to be present for all lessons unless you have a valid excuse. Your attendance at all lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions will be tracked and will be subject to auditing/checking by MOE and SEAB.
ATTENDANCE What should I do if I fall ill and am not able to attend classes? • You should see a certified medical practitioner immediately to obtain a Medical Certificate (MC) to certify that you are medically unfit to attend class. • The treatment sought must be from an independent medical practitioner and the MC must be dated on the actual day of absence. • You are to send an email to the TalentOutreach@ntu.edu.sg, on the day of your absence. Your email should contain your name, JC, H3 Taught Module, and the date and reason for your absence. • The original MC must be mailed within 2 days of your absence to the Talent Outreach Section.
ATTENDANCE What should I do if I am not able to attend classes because I have to represent my school? You are required to seek approval for any absence from your NTU H3 Taught Modules. You will need to inform your H3 School Co-ordinator who will write to the Talent Outreach Section on your behalf, to seek approval. Your school will have to submit an official letter of excuse to cover the duration of your absence. This letter must reach NTU 10 working days before the period of absence. You must receive official approval from NTU through your H3 School Co- ordinator before absenting yourself.
ASSESSMENT COMPONENTS What are the assessment components for the NTU H3 Taught Module I am taking? Semiconductor Physics Molecular Biology & Devices Lab Assignments (20%) Lab Assignments (10%) Final Exam (80%) Mid-Term Tests (20%) Final Exam (70%)
ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS I have successfully applied for Access Arrangements (AA) through MOE/SEAB for my previous sittings at the national examinations. Can I apply for AA for my NTU H3 Taught Module examinations? (…/1) All applications for access arrangement (AA) for candidates with learning or physical disabilities offering an NTU H3 Taught Module must be made through the Office of Admissions, NTU. All applications for AA apply only to the final written examination for the NTU H3 Taught Modules.
ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS I have successfully applied for Access Arrangements (AA) through MOE/SEAB for my previous sittings at the national examinations. Can I apply for AA for my NTU H3 Taught Module examinations? (…/2) Students who wish to apply for AA should read the detailed guidelines here: http://www.ntu.edu.sg/TalentOutreach/H3/H3TaughtModules/Docume nts/NTU-H3%20AA%20Guidelines.pdf. The official application form should be downloaded, printed and completed along with all supporting documents. ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS I have successfully applied for Access Arrangements (AA) through MOE/SEAB for my previous sittings at the national examinations. Can I apply for AA for my NTU H3 Taught Module examinations? (…/3) Applications for AA must be accompanied by the requisite supporting documents. Applications without complete documents will be invalidated. The completed application form and all supporting documents must be submitted to the school’s H3 Teacher Coordinator in hardcopy for completion of Sections E and F in confidence. Schools must courier the application form and all documents to NTU by 15 February 2019.
TESTS & EXAMINATIONS Can I be excused from the tests and examinations listed in the Test & Examinations Schedule? (…/1) Absence from the tests listed in the Tests & Examinations Schedule is strongly discouraged. o Given that all tests count towards the A-Level grade, they are to be treated with equal importance as the final A-Level examinations. o Any absence must be covered by an MC from an independent doctor. The MC must be dated on the actual day of absence. No absence from the final examination will be allowed. An “Absent” grade will be issued even if an MC is produced. In the event of any absence, the original MC must be mailed within 2 days of your absence to the Talent Outreach Section.
TESTS & EXAMINATIONS Can I be excused from the tests and examinations listed in the Test & Examinations Schedule? (…/2) As per the requirements for any absence from class, you are also required to send an email to the TalentOutreach@ntu.edu.sg, on the day of your absence from a test. Do note that you are to copy your H3 School Co-ordinator in all emails sent to us – i.e. remember to cc. your H3 School Co-ordinator.
TESTS & EXAMINATIONS What should I do if I am not able to sit for the tests because I have to represent my school? Absence from the tests listed in the Tests & Examinations Schedule is strongly discouraged. You may however put in an appeal through your H3 School Co-ordinator. Approval is not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis and only for exceptional circumstances. You will need to inform your H3 School Co-ordinator who will email the Talent Outreach Section on your behalf. Your appeal must reach NTU 10 working days prior to the scheduled test date. You must receive official approval from NTU through your H3 School Co- ordinator BEFORE absenting yourself.
TESTS & EXAMINATIONS Will my tests and examination scripts be returned to me? Why? As all tests and the final examination will count towards your A-Level grade, scripts will not be returned. This is in line with MOE / SEAB’s guidelines / policies.

TESTS & EXAMINATIONS What happens if the MRT breaks down or if there are other unexpected situations during the day of the NTU H3 Taught Module examination? TESTS & EXAMINATIONS What happens if I fall seriously ill or if an adverse event occurs on or during the period/day of the NTU H3 Taught Module examination? A candidate whose performance in the final written examination has been affected by serious illness or adverse events may apply for Special Consideration (SC). Such events may include: o Debilitating illness o Psychological condition (e.g. severe anxiety or depression); o Bereavement in the immediate family (either a parent, grandparent or sibling); o Serious trauma (e.g. victim of crime, accident or disaster). GETTING AROUND NTU How do I locate a lecture theatre, tutorial room, laboratory or the different school / divisional offices within NTU? An online map is available at http://maps.ntu.edu.sg/maps. NTU has a huge campus. LIBRARY SERVICES How do I access the NTU Library? Bring along your photo ID EzLink Bus pass for access to the Lee Wee Nam Library. Your bus pass will also have to be presented whenever you loan materials from the Library. How do I borrow reference materials from the NTU Library? Your photo ID EzLink Bus pass also doubles up as your library card to loan materials from the NTU Library.
