Friday 16th July 2021 Dear Parents and Carers, In this weeks gospel we learn about compassion and looking after one another. Love and compassion are necessities and without them we cannot exist. We all felt the disappointment and the hurt those young footballers felt on Sunday evening, but we know they did their very best. We had to balance and learn to be gracious in defeat and happy for the other team. We felt compassion and empathy and the desire to make a change and to help them through their worries. I have seen this lived out in school this week too through the many trips we have been on, children helping one another and being compassionate. We have had a fabulous week in school and it has felt so alive and full of very exciting activities. I have had the pleasure to be part of the Super Six Send Off, I don’t know about the children, but I am exhausted! They have been to Chessington World of Adventures, Go Ape, Thorpe Lakes, had their prom and finished today with their BBQ and games on the common. What a send off. Thank you to the year 6 team for all their organisation. Today has been fun packed too, with Year 5 off to Greenwich Park and children in EYFS and Year 1 having parties to celebrate the end of their topic. I have been to the seaside and visited London all in one day! I even had a performance of an original song by Dominik in year 4A!

Nursery We cannot believe that there are only a few days left of Nursery! We have had an incredible year, both in the classroom and learning online. We are so sad to see our graduating children move on but are very excited to see them continue blossoming in Reception next year. This last week will be very busy finishing off the year and preparing for graduation. Please ensure you return your home reader if you have not done so already. Remember to return the whiteboard, whiteboard marker and counting cubes from your home learning packs too. The rest of your pack is for you to keep and support your continued learning and revision over the summer break. This is a final reminder to please check all your school jumpers/cardigans at home as we are still missing some. If you have one that is not yours, please return it to school so that we can return it to the rightful owner. If your child has gone home in any spare school clothes or shoes, please return these so we have enough spare clothes for the next school year. Thank you for your support throughout the year. Have a wonderful weekend. ` Year 1 Year 1 have worked hard this week finishing their topic work on London. They have really enjoyed learning about all the famous landmarks and choosing their favourite. They all look amazing dressed as their London character. We have collected all the reading books in for the summer. Please take some time over the holidays to read with your child and practise their key words. As we approach the end of term the teacher will talk to the children about moving to year 2 and answer any questions they may have. If you have any outstanding reading books at home please send them in. Many thanks Year 1 team Year 1 - Amazon Wish List https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/N3FTBY56O730?ref_=wl_share Year 2 The children have all been working really hard this week and we are all so proud of them. ` Year 3 Well done on another excellent and busy week at school. On Tuesday, children enjoyed meeting their new teachers for Year 4. Children are starting to think about the new, exciting things they will experience in Year 4. The Year 3 Games Afternoon was a great success with everyone having lots of fun on the common. It was lovely to see children playing well together and enjoying the afternoon with their friends. On Tuesday 20th July Year 3 will have their end of year party. Each child has been asked to bring some party food which they will share with the rest of their class. We would greatly appreciate if you could bring the item from the list to school by Tuesday. However, any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Please make sure no items include nuts. Thank you for your continued support. We will then start the finale of our school year by composing our own Viking song! In Maths, we are beginning to look at how to problem solve questions involving Money. If you have the opportunity, ask your child how to add and subtract amounts of money, and see if they can calculate the change they are owed at the shops!. In RE, we are looking at Future Saints and what kind of person we aspire to be then at the martyr Oscar Romero. In art, we will be painting our Longships! Please could you continue to support your child in practising their times tables, number bonds , reading and spellings at home - your child has been given their Time Table Rockstar logins which they should be using.
