Introduction
German animator Charlotte (Lotte) Reiniger
was born in Berlin in 1899. Her pioneering paper
cut-out silhouette animation technique would
make her become one of the most famous artists
in film history. Her work brought to life some

Extension:
1) Read the quote below. Why could it be treated
as the start of the dilemma in Sleeping Beauty?
Can the decision to simply “leave out” one fairy
be seen as discrimination? What could the
parents have done differently?
