Fletcher Morgan Jr. Elementary Parent Weekly Newsletter Hello Morgan Elementary parents and community. My name is Brian Gibson, and I am excited to serve as Fletcher Morgan Jr. Elementary's rst principal. I was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in North Houston, where I attended Aldine ISD schools. As a young student, I was fortunate to have been taught by some incredible teachers who inspired my journey of becoming an educator.
I earned my bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State University and master's in Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University, where I am currently completing my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. I have 16 years of experience as an educator. Before becoming principal at Velasquez Elementary in 2014, I served as an assistant principal in Fort Bend ISD. I also taught 2nd and 4th grades and served as a campus math specialist in Fort Bend ISD. My passion for educating children and having the privilege of watching them grow academically and socially are the anchors that sustain me. Children are the number one priority, and keeping them rst is instrumental in achieving success in schools. As an instructional leader, my pursuit is to work with all school staff members to create an engaging, loving, and dynamic school environment. I believe in having high expectations that in uence all students' success and creating a positive school atmosphere that celebrates excellence. Additionally, maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly campus for everyone is a top priority. Another area I believe is critical to student success is our families working collaboratively with school staff to support students in reaching their highest potential. I value developing and nurturing strong relationships with all school stakeholders to help us sustain a sound academic environment for our students to thrive. When we are collectively united and focused on supporting teaching and learning, our children reap all the bene ts. On a more personal note, I love spending time with my family in my free time. My younger sister, Juwana, is one of my favorite people in the world! We have a ball when we are together and have been inseparable since we were young children. I also have a fur kid, and his name is Harper. He's a six-year- old spoiled miniature schnauzer, and we love going for long walks on the weekends. Lastly, I enjoy exercising, traveling to any beach during the summer, and cooking tasty southern dishes for my family. In sum, I am excited about the journey of opening a new school, meeting our students' families, and developing a positive relationship with you and your child. I look forward to meeting everyone and serving as principal in this amazing community. I will keep you updated on Morgan Elementary's happenings weekly as we take this new journey together. Respectfully, Brian Gibson, Principal Fletcher Morgan Jr. Elementary

Mrs. Cunningham and I are embracing this great opportunity to bring our schools together for the Fall and we are already diving into the planning process. We have started meeting with district-level leaders from multiple departments to plan the logistics of both campuses operating in Huggins for the 1st part of the year. As we get closer to the start of the 2021-2022 school year both campuses will keep parents informed on all procedures and information needed to prepare for a safe and successful rst half of the school year. Another very important task I will be working on over the next few months is hiring staff for Morgan Elementary. This section will be used to provide updates on the construction of the school as well as share information on the development of the various areas on the campus. Together We Are Morgan Elementary Now that zoning for Morgan Elementary has been approved by the school board, we are currently going through the process of determining how many and who are the students attending Morgan this Fall. Having this information helps us to determine many different aspects of preparing for the opening of school such as: how many teachers and classrooms we will need, bus routes, ordering instructional materials, planning campus logistics, and much more. All of the communities zoned to Morgan Elementary are shown below. We are in a unique position to build a brand new culture with a fresh perspective that represents all of our excellent school communities that will have students attending Morgan Elementary. According to the demographer's projections, we are projected to open Morgan with 498 students for the 21-22 school year. In the next 5 years, we are projected to almost double the number of students enrolled!
