 WELCOME

* CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 125
        Leader: Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
                  which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

        People: As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so
                        the Lord surrounds his people, from this
                        time on and forevermore.

        Leader: For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on
                        the land allotted to the righteous, so that the
                        righteous might not stretch out their hands to do
                        wrong.

        People: Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
                        and to those who are upright in their
                        hearts.

        All: But those who turn aside to their own
                        crooked ways the Lord will lead away with
                        evildoers. Peace be upon Israel!

* OPENING PRAYER

* HYMN OF PRAISE

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostles’ Creed
        I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven
        and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: who
        was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
        suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and
        buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended
        into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the
        Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the
        quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
        catholic* church, the communion of saints, the
        forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the
        life everlasting. Amen.
                                                         *universal
* GLORIA PATRI                                             MEINEKE
   Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
       As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
                 World without end. Amen. Amen.

Welcome to Downtown, one of 3 worshiping communities of First
 United Methodist Church Lexington. Whether this is your first Sunday
   here or your hundredth, it is no accident that we are here together
 today. If you are visiting Lexington, we are so glad to be part of your
   time in the bluegrass. If you are new to the area and looking for a
church home, please let a greeter or member of staff know if you have
 questions. Our pastors would love the chance to have a conversation
                       and get to know you better.

Jesus’ ministry—one about a little girl, and one
about a man who couldn’t hear. Draw a picture of
someone in your life who needs healing.
