What the Gospels ask is not "Do you believe?"…
…but "Have you encountered a risen Christ?"

Look inside the mystery, see the empty cross
See the risen Savior, victorious and strong
No one else above Him, none as strong to save
He alone has conquered the power of the grave

Refrain: Glorious, My eyes have seen the glory of the Lord
Glorious, He stands above the rulers of the earth

Look beyond the tombstone, see the living God
See the resurrected, ruler of my heart
No one else above Him, none to match His worth
The hope of His returning fills the universe

Glorious, My eyes have seen the glory of the Lord
Glorious, He stands above the rulers of the earth
Glorious, glorious, Lord You are glorious (2X)

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Christ is Risen 1 Corinthians 15:55

Let no one caught in sin remain, Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross, And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us. Freely You’ve bled for us.

Refrain: Christ is risen from the dead, Trampling over death by death
Come awake come awake, come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead, we are one with Him again
Come awake come awake, come and rise up from the grave.

Beneath the weight of all our sin, You bowed to none but heaven’s will
No scheme of hell no scoffer’s crown, No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign, Forever let Your church proclaim (Refrain)

O death where is your sting? O hell where is your victory?
O church come stand in the light, The glory of God has defeated the night
Singing O death where is your sting? O hell where is your victory?
                   O church come stand in the light, Our God is not dead;
                   He’s alive, He’s alive! (Refrain 4x)

…..Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but

There was a day we held our breath and felt the sting of bitter death
When all our hopes were buried in the grave
Our eyes awake our hearts were torn between our faith and what we knew
Before our King was buried in the grave

Grace was in the tension of everything we've lost
Standing empty handed shattered by the cross

Refrain: All we had all we had was a promise like a thread
Holding us keeping us oh from fraying at the edge
All we knew all we knew was You said You'd come again
You'd rise up from the dead

There was a day we looked for proof that You had risen from the tomb
And all our doubts began to roll away
We touched the scars upon Your hands, You kept Your word Son of Man
You buried death by taking on the grave

You came here to save us 'cause everything was lost
No longer empty handed clinging to the cross (Refrain)

It is won it is done (repeat)

All we had all we had is a promise like a thread
Holding us keeping us oh from fraying at the edge
All we know all we know is You said You'd come again

You rose up from the dead
You rose up from the dead
You rose up from the dead
SCRIPTURE LESSON John 20: 1-18

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the
tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. So she ran and
went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to
them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they
have laid him.” Then Peter and the other disciple set out and went toward the tomb.
The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the
tomb first. He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he
did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He
saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not
lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other
disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as
yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the
 disciples returned to their homes.

But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into
the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been
lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are
you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not
know where they have laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and
saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her,
“Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing him to be
the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you
have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and
said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do
not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my
brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God
and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen
the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her.
