ABOUT The Moncton Basketball Association is the longest-standing, most inclusive, accessible, and affordable basketball association in the Moncton area providing the most exposure for youth to basketball skills growth opportunities, competition, and fun! At MBA, competing is more important than winning, hard work creates success and the value of children playing a game must never be overlooked. We ask all who play a role in our association, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and parents to keep these objectives paramount.... we serve the children! MISSION: To grow the game of basketball by making it accessible for youth of all ages and skill levels. MBA PROGRAMS U5 Little Dribblers, Price TBD The Little Dribblers is brand new to Moncton Basketball. Our little dribblers can expect a six-week intro to basketball program run on Saturday mornings. Programming to begin in late mid-October. U7 & U9 Jr Puppy & Puppy, $135 -This program is for youth under age 7 (Jr Puppies) and under age 9 (Puppies). - There are 10 to 12 (weather dependent) practice sessions. Sessions are one hour and take place on Saturday between 9am - 5pm. -The program will run mid-late October to mid-late February. -There will be at least one jamboree (mini games). - All participants receive a basketball that they will keep. U11 - U18 Recreation, $175 - $195 - This is a house league program for the following age divisions: U11, U13, U14, U16, U18. - There will be one - 1 hour practice per week on weekday evenings. - There will be one game per week, Typically on Saturday, older kids may have a Sunday game. - All participants receive a reversible jersey that they will keep. U11 Development Program, $175 U11 Development details to be updated. U13 & U14 Competitive, $175 + additional fees - This is a provincial program for the following age divisions; U13 & U14 - There will be two practices per week on weekday evenings. - Participants will play a game, tournament, or practice on the weekend. - This program will travel for games around the province Moncton Basketball Association Fall Registration Information
COACH DEVELOPMENT The Moncton Basketball Association recognizes the unique opportunity in sports to help youth develop physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills. RECREATION & COMPETITIVE TEAM PROCESS All youth who register in Moncton Basketball Association will have the opportunity to play recreational basketball. We will have an evaluation process on the weekend of September 18-19, 2021 for everyone registered with the exception of Jr Puppy and Puppy. This process helps us divide the teams fairly. Recreational teams receive one practice and one game per week. For youth who are ready to make a bigger commitment and develop their game; we have the competitive provincial program. Tryouts for this program will take place the week of September 20-25, 2021. These teams will have additional practice each week and travel to various games and tournaments around the province. There are additional fees for this program, approximately $150 plus travel expenses. Moncton Basketball Association Fall Registration Information
