MISSION STATEMENT A Message from our Director The Romeoville Recreation Department exists to improve the quality of life of the We’ve been busy bees this summer and hope you’ve had an opportunity to come out community by ensuring a variety of leisure to our many free events. We’re not done yet! RomeoFest is just around the corner time activities. This will be accomplished (Thursday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 5th). Come out for live music, through integrity, honesty, dedication, entertainment, carnival rides and good eats! VILLAGE OFFICIALS The Romeoville Police Department will be holding its First National Night Out Event Mayor John Noak on Tuesday, August 7th, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm (1050 W. Romeo Road). We will be revamping the park Marissa Cardoni to bring you a new and better play area. Superintendent of Recreation - New Tennis Court Lights (at the rear of the Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Alan Grzyb, CPSI, APRP Road) will be going up and we hope you enjoy a good game! Registration 3 WAYS TO REGISTER: WALK-IN • MAIL-IN • ONLINE Walk-in & visit us! The Recreation Center is open for registration Monday - Friday 9:00am - 9:00pm and Saturday - Sunday 9:00am - 6:30pm. Mail your registration form to us! Our address is 900 W. Romeo Rd., Romeoville, IL 60446. Forms are available online or at the Recreation Center. Register Online! Visit www.romeoville.org and click on Recreation. Some programs are not available for online registration. Resident Registration August 20 - 31 Registration Dates: Non Resident Registration August 29 - 31 PLEASE NOTE: ROMEOVILLE RESIDENTS HAVE PRIORITY IN REGISTERING FOR ALL PROGRAMS. RESIDENCY INFORMATION Residents may register all days of registration by mail, over the counter or online (some programs are not eligible for online registration). In district fees are for Romeoville residents. Proof of identity/age and residency is required at the time of registration. Please provide one of the following: current utility bill (water bills are not accepted), current tax bill, vehicle registration, or home purchase/lease contract AND photo ID (state-issued ID or drivers license). Please be prepared to show identification during all registration periods to ensure residency and confirm information on file. NON RESIDENCY INFORMATION Mail-in and walk-in registration from non residents will only be accepted during the non resident registration period. Non resident fees are 1.5 times more for programs unless otherwise noted. ONLINE REGISTRATION POLICY Anyone can register online for predetermined recreation programs. Romeoville residents must first acquire a user name and password to receive resident rates online. To do so, heads of household must come in to the Recreation Center and provide proof of residency and identity. At that time, a user name and password will be issued. The password expires after one year and residency status must be renewed annually. Residents who do not update their residency at the Recreation Center will be charged non-refundable, non-resident fees. ACQUIRING A FIRST TIME USER NAME AND PASSWORD 1. Romeoville residents must come in to the Recreation Center to show proof of residency and identity (once annually). 2. All family information must be updated at this time. 3. You will be given an Online Registration Login card. 4. Upon the first login, you will be prompted to change your password. This password will expire after one year. 5. Passwords will be issued to the head of household only. For technical assistance (i.e., lost password, troubleshooting, etc.) please call (815) 886-6222. Athletic and event center The Edward Hospital Athletic & Event Center is an indoor athletic complex featuring over 76,000 square feet of turf fields and hard courts. FACILITY INFORMATION The facility includes an indoor soccer field, 2 IHSA regulation basketball courts or 4 regulation volleyball courts, spectator area, and 5 multi-purpose rooms. Due to the high demand for the Athletic Center, the Village purchased 6 additional basketball courts to host larger, National Tournaments. These tournaments have brought events with 300 teams, thus needing 1,500 hotel rooms per day for a 3-day tournament. These tournaments have drawn visits from top ranked college coaches from Michigan State, University of Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota and Cornell to name a few. The Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center continues to exceed expectations by drawing thousands to our area. Located along the Route 53 corridor, this complex has drawn regional attention with an estimated 400,000 visitors annually. In addition to athletics, the Center also accommodates outdoor festivals, shows, conferences, corporate events, parties, camps and clinics just to name a few.
