Village of Hinsdale | PARKS & RECREATION Letter From The Superintendent Dear Hinsdale Residents, Fall in Hinsdale is coming to an end and with it the finalization of a number of Parks & Recreation projects! Most notably, this fall the new Pickleball courts opened at Brook Park, and are already in high demand; Peirce park tennis and basketball courts were refinished, and will be beautiful for spring play; and the installation of the new park benches at Burns Field, Robbins Park, Memorial Grounds, and Highland Board of Park were completed, with more benches to come in Trustees 2020! If you are interested Thomas Cauley in sponsoring a new bench, - Village President please contact me to discuss Trustees the options! • Scott Banke Winter is on its way, but • Neale Byrnes that doesn’t mean you have • Laurel Haarlow to limit your recreational • Gerald J. Hughes activities! We are offering a bevy of new programs for all ages, including nature- Commission based, S.T.E.A.M., coding, app-development, sports, teen trips, adult classes and many more! Located north of the Parks and Recreation Lodge and Zook property and located near the Annex which contains restrooms. Each of the shelters is Sammy Hanzel (left) equipped with charcoal grills, water and electric access. The pavilions and designated grounds may be -Recreation Supervisor reserved by individuals or groups for a fee. Reservations are required for use of any picnic area. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park at any time. Dogs are not allowed in the picnic shelters at any Maggie South time. -Administrative Assistant Reservations are made by calling the Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department at (630) 789-7090. Be aware that this is a public park and there may be other activities happening during dog park hours. Please be courteous to other park users. 1. All dogs in the area north of the creek must be on a leash or be within physical proximity to and within sight of its owner at all times and come to its owner and heel immediately upon voice command of its owner. 2. All dogs must wear a collar, be appropriately licensed and wear a tag as proof of licensing or if not required in the dog’s domicile, wear a tag with the owner’s name, address and phone number. Proof of current rabies inoculation must be worn. 3. No more than two dogs per owner are permitted in the Park. 4. Dogs are not permitted in KLM Park during Village sponsored or authorized events when a sign is posted. 5. Dog owners are required to clean up after their dogs. 6. Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 11 This event is coordinated by the Begins promptly at 10:30 am Village of Robbins Park • FREE Hinsdale and... Bring your baskets, hunt for treats and visit with the Bunny. Festive spring crafts and entertainment will make this event fun for the whole family! This event will be held rain or shine. Areas will be divided by age group. All ages 11 and under are welcome. Please be prompt. Pre-registration is not required for the egg hunt. Please arrive prior to 10:30am to ensure participation in the Hunt. This event is coordinated by the Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department and The Community House. Park Clean-Up Day – Earth Day Celebration Friday, April 24 • 4 pm - Dusk In honor of Earth Day come out to our parks for the annual Park Clean Up Day! This event is a great opportunity for residents of all ages, scout groups, churches, businesses and service organizations to give back to the community. This year the focus location will be multiple parks in Hinsdale. Projects will include planting, painting and debris removal. Individuals and/or groups are welcome to request a specific park they would like to see improvements on. We welcome plant donations.
