Dear Parents and Carers, We have made it to the end of January! I would like to say a heartfelt well done to all the children and parents at Em- manuel at this difficult time. Our pupils have shown great dedication and resil- ience logging into Google Classroom for their learning every day and they con- tinue to make all the staff at Emmanuel very proud. And thank you to our par- ents for all you are doing to support your child/ren; I know many of you are facing great challenges at the moment but we really appreciate the patience and perseverance you have shown. Thank you too for all the lovely feedback we received via the phone calls that members of staff made this week; your words of encouragement mean a great deal and I feel very proud that our AS- PIRE values are so clearly evident in our community! I am afraid I have no further information but I will of course keep you updated. FREE SCHOOL MEALS DURING HALF-TERM During half-term week, those families whose children are eligible for free school meals will not be provided with vouchers, but instead, the government has said they will be supported through the Covid Win- ter Grant Scheme. RECEPTION APPLICATIONS 2021 Further to previous communication, par- ents and carers of children currently in the Nursery should have submitted their appli- cation for a Reception place directly to the Local Authority by the deadline of 15 Janu- ary. If you are yet to submit your applica- tion, you can still do so but this will now be classed as a late application. COVID-19 SYMPTOMS & ACTIONS Please do not send your child to school if they or a member of your household has symptoms of Covid-19. There are cur- rently three main symptoms to be aware of: a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your tempera- ture). However, a temperature 38C or above is normally considered to be high a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual) a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal If your child or anyone in your household shows signs of any of these symptoms, please stay at home and organise a test for the person with symptoms immediately. https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test Please inform the school at covid@emmanuel.camden.sch.uk that a test is being taken and again when the result is known so we can carry out contact tracing. Thank you. Please be aware that if a child or member of staff tests positive for Covid-19 during the school closure, the ‘bubble’ they are in will burst and all the children and staff will be sent home to self-isolate for 10 days.
Exercise Books If your child needs another lined exercise book or a maths exercise book, you can collect it from school. Please ring the buzzer any weekday morning between 9am and 12pm and collect the book from the table in the porch area.
