Eisenhower Fly-er April 7, 2019 Message from the Principal Testing is right around the corner and we will have more information coming next week. This Friday is our annual Hoedown! This event is an excellent time for students. Please be sure to ll out the registration form and turn it in by Wednesday. Please, also, note the pick-up times. It is important that 6th grade parents do not come early as we will be working diligently to have all 5th graders picked up. We hope your student can attend! 5th grade parents, please note that we will have our 5th grade DARE graduation on Monday, May 20th at 8:30 am. This is an event that we look forward to each year. Parents are welcome. Congratulations to our 3rd Quarter Honor Roll recipients (3:0-3.49) and 3rd Quarter Principal's List recipients (3.5-4.0)! The lists are below. Great job, all! Sincerely, Tim Holcombe
Hoedown Permission Slip and Forms Anyone For Some Pi? March 22nd was the sixth annual Pi day reciting contest at Eisenhower Intermediate School. Sixth graders had to memorize the rst 50 digits of Pi by March 7th in order to qualify for the nals. From there, the sky's the limit. We had 10 contestants participate in the nals this year and we want to thank all of those who participated. Congratulations to our third place contestant, Brad Horsley, memorizing 144 digits. Second place winner was Madison Swartz, memorizing 145 digits. And the winner of the 2019 Eisenhower Intermediate School Pi day reciting contest was Gianna Cuttaia, memorizing a grand total of 147 digits of Pi. That’s right, she memorized 147 random numbers in a row! Truly amazing. Congratulations, again, to all of those that participated.
Camp Michindoh Pictures Available to 6th Grade Parents and Students The sixth grade team is excited to roll out a new Camp Michindoh pictures opportunity as we pair with a company called Waldo Photos! Waldo Photos provides you with the option to have every camp photo containing your child to be found by their program, and then sent directly to the device of your choice for $11.99. This program will search through the over 1,600 pictures and locate every picture of your child’s face, and share those with you. (It will not recognize the back of the student’s head.) You in turn can then send those pictures to six additional devices for no extra charge. You can share the pictures with grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. The purpose of this opportunity is to make nding your child fast and easy. I heard some students talking about how they could “cheat the system” by taking screen shots of the pictures they wanted. However, there is no need to do that. You and your student are completely welcome to scroll through all of the pictures and download and/or print whichever ones you would like for free. The only charge associated with Waldo Photos comes if you want only your child’s pictures sent to your device. The directions for how to access the site are on the Waldo Letter link. If you have any questions please feel free to email Miss Ovall at jovall@oregoncs.org.
