Eisenhower Fly-er April 1, 2018 Message from the Principal We are very excited about all the events and learning opportunities we have in store for your student during our 4th quarter. Last week we had Parent/Teacher Conferences. Communication is very important to us. Please let us know if there is ever a time you would like to meet to conference. Below is our third quarter Honor Roll and Principal's List. Have a great week! Sincerely, Tim Holcombe 5th Grade Principal' 5th Grade Principal' List List

The 5th grade Math and Science teams are pleased to announce "Science Night" on April 19 and "Math Night" on
April 26 from 2:40-6:00. The purpose of these nights is to have some fun together as we get pumped up for state testing! We will have lots of great activities and games to review key content areas; we will also go over test taking strategies and hints. These events will be free to the students and will include snacks, prizes, and pizza! Look for invitations to come home at the beginning of April....and get these events marked on your calendar! A Piece of the Pi Friday, March 23rd was the fth annual Pi day reciting contest here at Eisenhower Intermediate School. Contestants have to memorize the rst 50 digits of pi in order to qualify for the nals. From there, the sky is the limit. We had 19 contestants participate in the nals this year and we want to thank all of those who participated. Congratulations to our third place contestant, Maddy Parker, memorizing 134 digits. Second place winner was Idania Sepulveda, memorizing 173 digits. And the winner of the 2018 Pi day reciting contest was Antonio Villegas, memorizing a grand total of 712 digits of pi. That’s right, he memorized 712 random numbers in a row! Truly amazing. Congratulations again to all of those that participated.
MARCO’S CARDS ON SALE! Great news! Marco’s “Pizza” Cards are for sale from March 5, 2018 until May 4, 2018! There are several great attributes of these cards. First, the cost of each card is only ten dollars, even though if every coupon is used it is worth over $70 in savings! The next great detail about the cards is that they are good for not only pizza, but fresh baked subs too. Yet another wonderful point about the cards is that they have no expiration date! And, quite possibly the best quality of the cards is that every card sold helps fund a fth grade student’s trip to Camp Michindoh next year! If you are interested in one of these cards ask a fth grader to bring one home to you! If you are interested in having your 5th grader sell cards, please have him/her see Miss Ovall, or Mrs. Walters, either before or after school to purchase cards. Miss Ovall and Mrs. Walters will sell cards Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings between 7:20 and 7:45 in the front hall. Miss Ovall and Mrs. Walters will also be available from 2:40 – 3:00 each afternoon. If you would prefer to handle the cards or money yourself instead of giving money to your student, you may bring it in during either of those times. Because students cannot be left unattended, Miss Ovall and Mrs. Walters will not be able to ll orders during school hours. (The o ce sta also will not distribute cards during school hours.) If necessary, other arrangements can be made by calling 419-836-8498, ext. 2041, or by emailing jovall@oregoncs.org, in advance. YMCA Opportunities Below
