Do you remember our leader boards for TTRS, Lexia and MyMaths? Now I will upload them in a separate document named ‘leader boards’ on our website for you. I am in school now helping some children who back at school but if you do need some help, you can always email yeartwo@stmarysjarrow.co.uk and you can continue to show me what you have been up to. I have seen lots of photos of you and your friends having fun and some of the amazing work you have been doing too. I can tell you’ve all been trying really hard! Keep it up, you are doing amazing. St. Mary’s Home Learning Week beginning: 15th June 2020 We aware that you will not be able to complete all of the tasks but try your hardest to do some of them. Remember you can access TTRS, Lexia and My Maths at any time. Year 2 booklets: CPG Comprehension, CPG Maths Workout, CPG SAT Buster Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, CPG SAT Buster Arithmetic and CPG SAT Buster Reasoning. If you don’t have Year 2, you can still follow some of the activities below and complete 2/3 pages in each of your booklets each week. I have uploaded the comprehension answers all in one document on the website up until the last week of work.

Read the ‘Soccer Aid Challenges’ on the website and try to complete some of them. on website Writing task Write a recount of the challenges you have completed and what you had to do for them. Challenge: Include a simile, commas in a list, a preposition and an exclamation mark. Spelling task Complete page 11 – Staying in the same tense SAT Buster Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Wednesday Maths task Complete page 17 and 18 - Fractions Maths Workout Reading task Today is ‘Combat Desertification Day’. This is to help fight against draught and drylands by improving the living conditions and restore the land. Let’s have a look at some animals that live in a desert. Remember deserts are where there is little to no rain, even Antarctica is a desert. Children can also log onto Active Learn Primary to play games and there are also some online lessons. Their username is the first four letters of their first name and first four letters of their second name e.g. Miss Mowbray would go to ‘missmowb’. The password is ‘Year2’ and the school code is ‘9xSx’. Curriculum Learning Tasks - Aim to complete each task over the week Computing: (Recap from previous history topics). http://resources.hwb.wales.gov.uk/VTC/castle_shapes/eng/Introduction/default.htm Use this website for a little bit of Maths and Castles exploring shapes of a castle. Geography: Read the power point on the website. Either in your head or write it down how you would feel being at sea on a boat and how you would feel when you saw land again. You might want to draw a picture too of you in a boat. Science: On website Physical Education: Complete the Soccer Aid Challengers that are part of your reading for this week. Religious Education: Complete week 2. Remember there is a home learning pack on the website for the children, alongside activity sheets and a parent’s guide too. Art / D.T: Make a Father’s Day card to give to your dad/grandad on Sunday. Hope Art Mrs Walker would like you to produce a piece of art work or take a photograph to show hope. You might want to do a new flower growing, a rainbow in the sky after a rainy day or a sunrise on a beach showing a bright new day.
