EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE APRIL 17, 2022
Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here.
If you are new or want to learn more about CSC, we’d love to meet you
during fellowship time after the service. We also invite you to fill out a yellow
connect card (in the pews) or check out csquare.church/new to learn more
about our church.
Kids: With special services like today, we want to all celebrate and worship
God together. We have taken extra care to make this service family friendly.
If your young child needs a different space at some point during the service,
the nursery (enter through fellowship hall) is another space available for
parents to care for their child. (Childcare workers are not available today.)
Moms: There is a nursing room in the small room in the lounge. Our ushers
can help you find the room.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Join CSC Elementary Kids & Families as they Walk for Hunger on May 1
Our elementary school kids have been learning about how God interrupts
injustice, and we are putting that into action by participating in Project
Bread's 2022 Walk for Hunger. Everyone is invited to join in by walking with
us or supporting us through a donation. We plan to leave from 5 Magazine
Street on Sunday, May 1 at 12:30 pm. Eat lunch beforehand and bring a
water bottle for this 2.5 mile walk through Cambridge. Help us reach our
goal of raising $700 to help provide food relief to hungry kids and families in
MA by donating at csquare.church/walkforhunger. Email
laura@centralsquare.church for more info.

SERMON QUOTES
The New Testament writers speak as if Christ’s achievement in
rising from the dead was the first event of its kind in the whole
history of the universe. He is the “first fruits, the “pioneer of
life.” He has forced open a door that has been locked since the
death of the first man. He has met, fought and beaten the King
of Death. Everything is different because He has done so. This is
the beginning of the New Creation: a new chapter in cosmic
history has opened. –CS Lewis

There are no traditions about a Messiah being raised to life:
Most Jews of this period hoped for resurrection, many Jews of
this period hoped for a Messiah, but nobody put these two hopes
together until the early Christians did so. –NT Wright

Everything is going to be fine in the end.
If it's not fine it's not the end.
―Oscar Wilde

By divine grace, our vision is for every person in Cambridge,
Greater Boston, and the World to encounter Jesus and be
transformed by God’s love. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will
know God, love neighbor, pursue healing, and seek justice.
DEDICATION LITURGY
(from the Covenant Book of Worship)

To the glory of God, our Father and Creator, to the glory
of Jesus Christ the Son, our Lord and Savior, to the glory
of the Holy Spirit, our Counselor and Guide,

  we dedicate this building.

For the worship of God, for the ministry of the word, for
the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for the
salvation of persons, for the building up of the church,
for the administration of the holy sacraments, for the
education and nurture of persons of all ages in the
truths of the Christian faith, and for the development of
Christian character,

  we dedicate this building.

For the blessing of all people: for the young and old, for
the single, for those who pledge their marriage vows,
for the sanctifying of home and family life, for the
comfort of those who grieve, for strength for those who
are undergoing trials, for counsel and encouragement
in Christian living,

  we dedicate this building.

For sympathy and fellowship with the needy, for the
cultivating of love toward all people, for essential unity
with all believers in Christ; for fostering good
citizenship, for resisting evil, for promoting
righteousness and justice in public life, for missionary
endeavor at home and abroad, for worldwide
evangelism and Christian discipleship, until “the
kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our
Lord and of his Christ,”

we now, the people of this church and
congregation, grateful for our heritage and
mindful of the sacrifices of those who have gone
before, consecrate ourselves anew to the worship
of God in spirit and truth, and to the service of all
people in the spirit of Christ, and we dedicate this
building with all its furnishings in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
  Amen.
REVELATION 19:1

Hallelujah, salvation and glory
Honor and power unto the Lord, our God

For the Lord our God is mighty
The Lord our God is omnipotent
The Lord our God, He is wonderful

ALTOS: All praises be to the King of Kings
And the Lord of Lords, He is wonderful

SOPRANOS:
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, He is wonderful

TENORS AND BASSES:
Hallelujah, salvation and glory
Honor and power, He is wonderful

GREAT I AM

I wanna be close, Close to Your side
So Heaven is real, And death is a lie
I wanna hear voices, Of angels above
Singing as one

CHORUS
Hallelujah, Holy, Holy
God almighty, The great I am
Who is worthy, None beside thee
God almighty, The great I am

I wanna be near, Near to your heart
Loving the world, Hating the dark
I wanna see dry bones, Living again
Singing as one

BRIDGE
The mountains shake before You
The demons run and flee
At the mention of the name king of majesty
There is no power in hell
Or any who can stand
Before the power and the presence of the Great I am
The Great I am, The Great I am
GRAVES INTO GARDENS

I searched the world
But it couldn't fill me
Man's empty praise
And treasures that fade
Are never enough

Then You came along
And put me back together
And every desire
Is now satisfied
Here in Your love

CHORUS
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You

I'm not afraid
To show You my weakness
My failures and flaws
Lord, You've seen them all
And You still call me friend

'Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
There's not a place
Your mercy and grace
Won't find me again

BRIDGE 1
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You're the only one who can
(repeat)

BRIDGE 2
You turn graves into garden
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You're the only one who can
You're the only one who can
LIVING HOPE

How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke your name into the night
Then through the darkness
Your loving kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The king of kings calls me His own
Beautiful savior, I'm yours forever
Jesus Christ, my living hope

CHORUS
Hallelujah, praise the one who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the roaring lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the roaring lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus, yours is the victory
