ADMINISTRATION CALENDAR Parish Calendar Each year we publish our Parish Calendar (this booklet) which contains all our major events, dates, feasts and festivals. A small number of printed copies are available in church foyers; it will also be made available digitally via the parish app and the parish website 1 February 2021. Financial Accountability The following will be published and presented to the parish: tax receipts (Planned Giving) for the previous tax year | End of Year Report for the 2020 nancial year | Budget 2021 – as required by the Diocese As soon after 31 March 2021 as is possible. Planned Giving Programme The following will run concurrently with the above: distribution of new planned giving envelopes | encouragement for 2 parishioners not on the planned giving programme to join | encourage those who use the envelope system to change to Automatic Payments As soon after 31 March 2021 as is possible. Safeguarding The National Of ce for Professional Standards (NOPS) responds to complaints of abuse involving clergy and members of religious congregations, and oversees the Church’s safeguarding policies and practices The Parish is committed to ensuring the safeguarding of our children and vulnerable adults See the church noticeboards. CONNECT GROUPS CALENDAR Ave Connect Rosary Every Wednesday we gather in our churches in Taupo and Turangi to pray the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin of Mary. Wednesdays: 12noon|Turangi & 7.00pm Taupō Caritas Connect This is a study and re ection of the Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand’s Lenten programme. Wednesdays: 10am|Taupō CFC Connect Couples for Christ (CFC) is a support group for married couples. Wednesdays: 12noon|Turangi & 7.00pm|Taupō Depth Charge Connect Faith Formation Using audio visual study resources Depth Charge Connect offers 3 the opportunity to delve into, and discuss with others, different aspects of our Catholic Faith. Wednesdays (during term time): 10.00am|Dennis & Catherine Hancock’s place Divine Mercy Connect Chaplet Every Friday this group gathers to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Fridays: 3.00pm|Taupō Endurance Connect Men’s Group The men of the parish gather to look at our faith and spiritual growth from a man’s perspective. Thursdays (during term time): 7.00pm|The Den|Taupō Healers Connect Ministers to the Sick We have a committed team of ministers who visit the sick and/or house bound who wish to receive Holy Communion. Once a month the team meets for prayer and formation. 1st Tuesday of the month|10.00am|Sandra Johns’ place. fl
Rangatahi Connect Youth Groups Our parish offers two youth groups: one for Years 7 & 8 students; one for Years 9 and above An appointment for a youth minister is still pending. Rourou Connect Tuesday Community Lunch An opportunity for Food, Fellowship & Faith. Tuesdays of the Year from 9 February 2021|1.00pm|Taupō Word On Fire Connect Following the Call of Christ During Lent we are offering a group re ection based on Bishop Robert Barron’s series, Following the Call of Christ Begins Wednesday, 24 February, 6.00pm|The Cafe|Taupō Word On Fire Connect Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible This is an introductory course on how to pray with the Bible. DEVOTIONS CALENDAR Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament An opportunity is available Monday–Saturday to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. SOCIAL JUSTICE CALENDAR Foodbank Our community donates food and other essential items which we pass on to the Foodbank for distribution. Helping Hands Our parish keeps a stock of prepared meals for families and individuals that need them. We also provide rewood and other services. YOUTH GROUP CALENDAR Youth Groups Our two youth groups kick off in March 2021, initially for every fortnight, then weekly. More information will be made available in the weeks to come 12 & 24 March 2021|Youth Den Heaven Come Young Adults We are back this year with Heaven Come 2021. After an incredibly successful year in 2019, we are excited to host the second annual Heaven Come Young Adult Festival. You’ll be joined by over 100 young adults (ages 18-35) from all over Aotearoa and Bishop Steve. 19-21 March 2021|Lake Karapiro Set Free Youth Festival Registration is open for our 11th Annual Set Free Youth Festival for college students year 10-13. This festival is sure to be a 17 stunner!
