A HISTORY OF STATE PRIDE. The Queensland Music Awards celebrate and showcase the best of Queensland’s new music. QMusic is proud to be behind this event which is an important part of Australia’s music landscape and one which has catapulted local talent to a global audience including Amy Shark, Violent Soho, Ball Park Music and Cub Sport. The winner of the 2020 QMA ‘Song of the Year’, The Jungle Giants will have their plaque positioned on the Valley Walk of Fame and share the same real estate as other homegrown artists including Powderfinger, Regurgitator, the Go-Betweens, the Bee Gees, The Saints, Savage Garden, Custard, Railroad Gin, Blowhard, Keith Urban. The QMAs not only provide a platform for our local artists to be recognised nationally and abroad, but also our industry leaders, festivals and live music venues. After the devastating year that was 2020, it is more important than ever to continue to shine light on our local talent and support the next generation of artists Queensland continue to deliver to the world. Offering support and encouragement to keep going in this new year ahead is imperative for our industry to thrive and demonstrate the Queensland spirit to the rest of the nation. CONRAD SEWELL AMY SHARK ABOUT THE Taking place at The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Wednesday 5th May, the 2021 Queensland Music Awards (QMAs) is where Queenslanders celebrate the artists, industry leaders, festivals and live music venues that keep the joy of music alive in our communities. The format for the awards includes pre-party B2B networking drinks, a sit down dinner, AWARDS. awards ceremony and an after party at the The Outpost Bar. Winning a QMA is a key milestone in the career of many successful Queensland artists. Look back at the past winners of the QMAs and you'll see a host of names that have gone on to forge careers that made us proud. With over 1000 artist song submissions, and directors sending in more than 100 music video submissions, the 2021 QMAs marks the highest ever number of submissions on record. The QMAs have spotlighted or unearthed a pantheon of Queensland music greats, including Kate Miller-Heidke, Bernard Fanning, The Grates, Hungry Kids of Hungary and Emma Louise. They've also recognised the chart-topping success of artists like Keith Urban and the Veronicas, and the lifelong contributions of the Bee Gees, Carol Lloyd, Ed Kuepper and Grant McLennan.

VENUE OF THE YEAR THE TRIFFID SOLBAR METRO REGIONAL The public is encouraged to vote for the QMAs People’s Choice Awards, 2020 saw the wonderful new venue and now home to the QMAs The opening in early 2021. Fortitude Music Hall be presented for Metro and Solbar for the Regional Award. The genera public can vote for their favourite Venue Of The Year located in Metro and Regional locations throughout Queensland. Along with the None other the the incredible Big Pineapple Festival took out the Festival award for the Festival Of The Year Award. Despite hard times during Of The Year. COVID there were a large number of festivals that still took place during 2020.

GRANT McLENNAN LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2020 As a founding member of the Brisbane band The Go-Betweens, Grant McLennan is acknowledged as one of Australia’s greatest songwriters who paved the way for many great artists and for the burgeoning Creative Industries sector.
