AB 306 – EMPLOYEE AND FACULTY HOUSING Chapter 49 • Requires employee and teacher Statutes of 2021 housing projects to be reviewed by the Chaptered: 7/9/21 local jurisdiction. • Projects are public housing and housing at a place of education for faculty or public housing for employees under the CBC, including single-family. • DSA may still provide oversight to ensure housing projects when on a school campus do not conflict with site accessibility and fire & life safety requirements. 6
SB 169 – POST SECONDARY EDUCATION STUDENT HOUSING Chapter 49 Statutes of 2021 Chaptered: 9/23/21 Provides affordable, low-cost housing options for students enrolled in public postsecondary education in California. 50 percent of the available funds shall be available for the California Community Colleges, facilitating low-income student access to higher education. Full submittal to DSA: • Dorm on campus or district-owned property • Dorm off campus, leased by the district with purchase option Access Compliance review by DSA and submittal to local jurisdiction required: • Dorm off campus, leased, and with district funds used for construction • Projects are both public housing and housing at a place of education for students. 7

SUSTAINABILITY SHOWCASE Yosemite Community College District – The new, ZNE verified, one-story district ZNE verified Central Services Building office building of approximately 29,000 SF consists of administration and office space along with assembly areas for the District’s Board of Trustees.
