Rising Dividends For Retirement Income
With interest rates near historic lows, many investors are currently realizing lower returns
on their fixed income investments. This has proven to be especially challenging for many
retirees on a fixed income as inflationary pressures continue to push the prices of necessary
    goods and services ever higher.
The Wells Fargo Compass Managed Diversified Stock Income Plan
(DSIP) is designed for investors who want to own a diversified portfolio of
dividend-paying stocks. Although dividends can be subject to change or
elimination and are therefore not guaranteed, the Managed DSIP portfolio
is constructed of a broadly diversified selection of dividend-paying
equities that will typically have both an attractive yield and the likelihood
to consistently raise dividends. Because bonds and other fixed income
investments cannot typically provide for periodic or annual dividend
increases, they are often ill-equipped to help protect a retiree’s earned
investment income from a loss of future purchasing power.
If you prefer to leave the decision-making to a professional manager, the
Wells Fargo Compass DSIP program may be right for you. As a seasoned
investor, you may also benefit from this advisory program and it’s ability
to offer you an equity selection and monitoring service designed to keep your investments on
course. Additionally, the Managed DSIP may help you earn current income that can rise over
time and may even help reduce volatility in your portfolio.
As part of our higher service standards, Wells Fargo Advisors can provide clients with the
investment rationale underlying any changes that are made to the portfolios. So, not only will
you be informed that a trade has taken place within your portfolio, but, if you wish, you will
also be provided with an explanation of why that trade occurred. In addition, you can elect
to receive confirmation of the trades, or you can choose to have confirmations suppressed.
Purchases and sales within the portfolio are driven by the decisions and investment disciplines
of the Managed DSIP Investment Committee. With an investment of $50,000 or more, the
Wells Fargo Compass Managed DSIP portfolio may allow you to take advantage of opportunities
within the marketplace consistent with your risk tolerance.
