COUNT YOUR CREDITS Let’s start thinking about GRADUATION… What do you need? 1. Total MINIMUM amount of credits needed to graduate: 80 (courses are usually 4 credits each) = 20 courses 2. Specific required courses in grades 10, 11 and 12 3. You may need more courses, in specific subject areas, to enter various Post Secondary School programs. Let’s take a look at which courses are required…
ASSESSMENTS AND ADDITIONAL COURSEWORK These are typically scheduled at the end of your Grade 11 Math course (Numeracy) and at the end of your Grade 10 English course (Literacy)

EXTERNAL CREDITS Sometimes students can claim external credits for things like: • Provincials • Powwow • Winter/Summer games • Driving lessons • Dance & Music exams • Etc… *Email your Counsellor to see if your outside activities qualify
Choosing your Math and Science Courses *B or higher in FMA 10 is recommended for students planning to take Physics and/or Chemistry 11 *Some programs require FMA 10 - check this out first before deciding on WP 10
FRENCH IMMERSION Each year, the timetable “flips” for French Immersion students. Next year in for Grade 10 you will need: FRAL 10 Science Humaines10 Art Dramatiques 11 Your Grade 11 year: FRAL 11 FRAL 12 Histoire 11
BE AWARE: LANGUAGE CREDITS FOR POST-SECONDARY UBC/SFU and some Alberta Universities may require a grade 11 level second language course for admission. We offer French 10/11/12 & Spanish 10/11/12 *NEW in 2021-2022: Russian 10 with Mr. Karagodine! (Note: Our Russian 11 will not meet the grade 11 level language requirement for post-secondary
CAREER PREPARATION A Career Program prepares you for Post-Secondary Education and provides you with employment opportunities. Some advantages include: Career placement opportunities in fields of interest RCMP Camp, Firefighting, Wildlands Field trips, College Tours, Encounters with Canada Post-Secondary tours and connections See Mr. Runge for more details about CP 12.
THE DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CAREER PREP AND CNC QUESNEL Begin an apprenticeship in your Grade 12 year! (apply in Grade 11). Previous LOCAL offerings have included: Millwright, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Welding. You can also apply to get into the Prince George CNC programs: Auto. HD mechanics, hairdressing, etc. This is a competitive application and should be started early For the Dual Credit program: 1) Must complete English 12 and CLC 12 during Semester 1 (Dual Credit is in Semester 2 of Grade 12) 2) Must have all other required courses completed prior to the start of program *Highly suggested to complete Career Prep in Grade 11.

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER… • Success all depends on YOU! (attendance, handing in assignments, etc) • Math and English are semester-long courses (not year-long) • You have more freedom BUT….more responsibility • Consider what your goals are and how you will achieve them Reach out for help when needed!
