AXA Hearts in Action: our corporate volunteering program AXA Hearts in Action offers all employees the opportunity to act for a social cause through volunteering. Some concrete examples of our actions Belgian coastguards AXA is a proud partner of the 1400 Belgian coastguards who are true risk prevention ambassadors. Last year they have rescued 355 people and re-united 866 children with their parents. Corporate Responsibility Week AXA organizes the CR week in all locations in Belgium with more than 40 prevention and volunteering events. 2 26
Some concrete examples of our actions Cardiology Foundation AXA is a national partner of the Cardiology Foundation and of the Chevaliers du Coeur. AXA encourages its employees to learn how to use a defibrillator and provide first aid. GoodPlanet AXA is a national partner of GoodPlanet and wants to motivate its employees to contribute to a ‘good planet’ by reducing significantly our CO2 emissions. 27
Some concrete examples of our actions ToekomstATELIERSdel’Avenir AXA is a founding partner of Ateliers de l'Avenir who is teaching children from disadvantaged backgrounds on Saturday. The volunteers of AXA Hearts in Action organize classes on financial topics through competency-based volunteering. Christmas exchange breakfast During the Christmas exchange breakfasts, AXA’s employees receive a breakfast in return for a in-kind or cash donation to associations. 28
Some concrete examples of our actions Special Olympics AXA Hearts in Action volunteers support Special Olympics athletes to perform their sport. We also raise awareness on prevention and climate change through education games. Relay For Life AXA supports "Relay for Life“, an initiative of the Cancer Foundation. This event allows to raise awareness about the fight against cancer and raise funds. In 2017, more than 400 AXA employees participated. 29
