Club News Dear Members, It is my pleasure to introduce myself as your new General Manager. To say I am excited to be at Spindletop would be an understatement. Thank you in advance for placing your trust in me as I navigate this very important role. It is easy to see what a special and unique Club we have and how deeply the entire staff cares about only providing the best Member services and experiences for you. I have been truly blessed to start my new position with a great team in place and all their institutional knowledge that comes along with it. My goal as one unified service team, is to exceed your expectations daily and continue to build upon our many past successes, ensuring Spindletop Hall is a viable and comfortable extension of your home for many years to come. Spindletop Hall is only my third Club home throughout my private club career. I was with Idle Hour Country Club for the last seven years serving as their Clubhouse Manager and prior to that was with Clovernook Country Club in Cincinnati for 18 years. I wore many hats and held many positions at Clovernook as I moved up the ranks to the position of Clubhouse / Assistant General Manager. Currently I am working towards my CCM certification (Certified Club Manager) through the CMAA and hold a degree in hospitality management from Cincin- nati State. I credit my club success to always having an aim to please attitude, and a willing- ness to learn and adapt as I continue to hone my abilities at every opportunity. I strive to be the best version of myself every day. I reside in Masterson Station with my wife Kristen, our son Sawyer (6) and our daughter Avery Grace (9). We have been fortunate enough to celebrate 10 years of marriage this past summer and cherish all things family. Kristen enjoys teaching at Christ the King where our children get to learn and grow, respectively in first and third grade. Kristen, Avery and Sawyer are excited to join the Club family and look forward to making lots of new Spindletop friends. Sawyer told me he can’t wait to participate in the annual Nerf gun wars! My greatest joy is being a husband to Kristen, and father to my children. We enjoy many family outings and vacation time together, always trying to find ways to turn everyday situations into teachable moments. In my limited personal time, I enjoy playing golf and trying to get my grass at home to look like a golf course! I love all things horticultural, food & beverage, and culinary. You may even see me on the grill one day at Tiki! I am honored to be the selected candidate to lead this Spindletop team to exceed your Member expectations. It has been a long-term goal of mine and a culmination of years of hard work to put myself in this position. Please know, I take my responsibilities very seriously, but not myself. I will always be available for the Membership and staff of Spindletop Hall and my door will always be open. Thank you to President DeVries and the entire Executive Committee for getting both myself and Spindletop to this point. I look forward to meeting every Member and growing our personal relationship as we grow the Club together. We will celebrate many future Spindletop successes with each other. Thank you for welcoming me to my NEW Kentucky home, Matt Post, General Manager MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITY Through December 31, 2020, The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall is offering a ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE CLUB WITHOUT PAYING AN INITIATION FEE!
