A French Connection Wayne Plummer My wife and I discovered the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon in 2010. Over the next few years we were able to visit the area several times, and we often said to ourselves: “this would be a great place to cycle.” In May of 2017 we decided to make a more extended visit to the area and get out on bicycles. After a tremendous amount of research, we decided on a bike rental company –Luberon-Biking.fr in Velleron. Since 2017, we have rented bikes three times from this company. Our experience with the owner – Huber Flechais – has been great each time. We have always stationed ourselves near Apt, a city of about 11,000 people. Route Spotlight A Ride Home (30-mile) Not all routes can be flat. Leaving out of the Sheetz distribution center in south Burlington, the Ride Home has a few punchy short climbs but will also take you over two long but shallow climbs, Thompson Mill Rd and Bass Mountain Rd. Most of the route is low traffic, but Rogers Rd and Snow Camp Rd. can get busy at times. There are stores that can be found at the halfway point of this route if you need to take a quick break.
