General Information Following on from the success of last years Christmas Craft Week we are delighted to announce that it is back for a second year! You will be able to book onto a wide range of wonderful Arts and Crafts Workshops. and get your Christmas presents made whilst learning a new skill. Kingshill House is a fantastic venue, situated in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside; this impressive Georgian Mansion dates back to 1705 but whilst maintaining many of its formal features we pride ourselves on our relaxed 'home from home' atmosphere with ample free parking. All workshop costs includes tuition, a delicious two course buffet style lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments. Please note some workshops are subject to an additional cost for materials. Bookings are subject to availability and are based on a first come first served basis. Payment must be made in full once the booking is received and confirmed. A fun day painting Christmas cards in
watercolour with guidance from your tutor.
There will be a variety of subjects to choose
from including photos and materials such as
holly, ivy and pine cones for a still life or if
you prefer bring your own subject matter.
The class is suitable for complete beginners
or for those with a little more experience.
There will also be advice on getting your
card printed either locally or online.
Festive Fused Glass Lantern

You will make a set of 3 fused glass panels
with a Festive theme to create a fabulous
Christmas candle lantern. You will be using
the remarkable process of glass fusion,
which involves layering coloured glass to
form a design which is then heated in a kiln
so that the glass fuses together. You will be
using a myriad of coloured glass pieces and
decorative inclusions to achieve this effect.

Make your own unique ceramic Christmas
Tree decorations for your tree or for
personalised presents. Using textures, lace,
mark making and applique with clay. You
will be encouraged to bring your own
inspirational materials to make your own
highly individual work.

Yuletide Printmaking
with Beth Jenkins

Design and print your own original designs on
to Christmas cards, gift tags, gift bags and more.
Using easy to cut lino, you will be guided
through the design, cutting and printing process
to make great designs, on high quality cards, in
black and white or colour. You will be able to
take your blocks away to continue printing at
home. All materials will be provided, and extras
will be
available at a modest cost. Suitable for all levels,
including absolute beginners,
this is a fun and festive day!
Christmas Stained Glass Decorations
with Caroline Lambert

(+ £15 for materials payable to the tutor on the day)
Using the copperfoiling technique made so
famous by Tiffany, you will make
approximately 3 decorations. You will have a
choice of Christmas designs to work from
including trees, stars, angels, robins, wreath,
mistletoe.....! all of which are suitable for those
with little or no experience.
Although it will be a very intensive day, at the
end of it you will have learnt many new skills
and will take home your very own Christmas
ornaments to be proud of!
Christmas Beading
with Ann Tucker

(+ £7.50 for materials payable to the tutor on the day)
You will use a variety of sizes of beads and seed
beads to create a pretty Christmas decoration,
perfect for the Christmas tree or as a gift if you
prefer. As we all need small gifts at this time of
year, there will also be the opportunity to make
simple bracelets using seed beads and cords.
Pottery Painting Presents
with Kelly Lawfull

Join Kelly from Smarty Pots for a fun pottery
painting day!
Spend the day painting your very own
unique Christmas themed ceramics for
yourself or as a gift for somebody special.
Items can be personalised for that special
gift.
Kelly will then take your creations away to be
fired and once fired will bring them back to
Kingshill House for you to collect.
Prices range from £5 - £25 depending on the
peice you would like to make
Festive Indian Block Printing
with Caroline Lambert & Nigel Ginley

Why not join Caroline and Nigel for a
fantastic day of block printing on fabric?
There will be all the usual blocks plus a
dazzling array of festive ones too!
You don't need to be an artist to enjoy Indian
Block Printing! In this relaxed session, you
will learn how easy it is to create wonderful
images on a range of fabric items such as T
towels, aprons, napkins, table runners, bags
etc. using traditional hand carved Indian
wood blocks and fabric paints.
You will also be able to purchase a range of
items to print on, or you can just bring your
own..!

An introduction to festive silk painting –
whether you want to create a holly &
mistletoe wreath silk painting for hanging
indoors, or winter robins and bullfinches, a
snowy forest scene, or stockings and jolly
snowmen, let your imagination run riot!
Christmas Sculptures - Angel or Father Christmas
with Jackie Ginley
Wednesday 4 - Friday 6 December 2019
10am - 4pm - £155
(+ £25 for materials payable to the tutor on the day)
Jackie has designed an angel and a traditional Father
Christmas figure that can be used as tree toppers or free
standing ornaments. You will have time to complete
one of the sculptures in this course. Jackie will show
you how to make the face and hands from paper clay
by using moulds and how to sculpt with newspaper,
wire and fabric. Once your sculpture is completed she
will show you some tips and tricks for easy painting. If
you would like to make the Santa as a free standing
ornament you will also be able to make the sack which
can hold small presents or wrapped sweets.
Magical Mosaic Robin

This gorgeous little Robin mosaic is designed
to interact with it’s environment, reflecting
and refracting light so that it changes
throughout the day. On this one day
workshop you will produce a stained glass
mosaic Robin on a stalk to brighten up your
garden
Skills covered on the course will include
mapping out of your original design, basic
glass cutting, stained glass mosaic techniques,
and grouting techniques.
Winter Weaving
with Rebecca Connolly
Thursday 5 December 2019
10am - 4pm - £65
In this workshop you will be weaving on a
simple body-tensioned loom 4” wide, with
each participant having their own to use.
Rebecca will demonstrate warping, threading
and tensioning of these looms then guide you
through basic weave techniques and pattern
design as you experiment with the materials
provided in a range of colours, textures and
fibres, to include the British Wools used in her
own designs.
The suggested outcome is a set of mug mats
which are yours to take home, however you
may choose to keep your weaving as a sampler
to enjoy as a wall hanging or construct a little
drawstring pocket with some simple stitching.

mossed ring using fresh materials and some

join Katherine and create a festive table ring
with candles, ribbons, fresh foliage and
artificial festive materials that will ensure the
design will last for the Christmas season.
Seasonal Soap Making
with Leslie Astor
Thursday 5 December 2019
6pm - 9pm - £50
In this workshop you’ll learn the combined
art and science of traditional cold process
soap making. Using plants based fats and oils,
botanicals and essential oils, students will
make two different types of soap and take
home six bars they’ve made in class. Note:
This is not melt and pour soap making, and
we’ll be working with caustic lye. Please bring
safety goggles to class. All other equipment

Have you always wanted to knit some of
those fabulous sock patterns but not sure
how? Want to knit seamless items “in the
round” but not sure how? Or would you just
like to expand your repertoire of knitting
skills a bit (maybe you’ve just learned to knit
and want to move on from scarves)?
In this workshop, we’ll practice all the skills
you need to knit a full sized sock on double
pointed needles, but on a tiny ornament you
