CHOOSING AN ECFE CLASS Unique to Minnesota, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is offered only through Public School District Community Education programs like ours. ECFE classes, designed for parents and their children ages birth to 5 years old, focus on giving parents the information, resources and tools they need to provide the best possible environment for their child’s learning and growth. SEPARATING CLASSES Parents and children interact and explore activities together for the first part of the class. Following this special time, parents meet in a separate classroom with a licensed parent educator for discussion topics related to child development and parenting. NON-SEPARATING CLASSES Parents and children stay together in the classroom for the entire class to grow and play A licensed parent educator leads a discussion on topics that include child development, transition to parenthood and how children learn and play. SIBLING CARE Childcare is offered to siblings of class participants. Sibling care is available on a sliding-fee scale for those families choosing an ECFE class. We take children as young as six weeks. Infants up to four months are welcome to attend ECFE classes with their parent. However, after four months, they should attend Sibling Care. SLIDING FEE SCALE For ECFE classes, we use a sliding fee scale calculated by household income. Fees listed in the catalog reflect the full price. The price you pay will be calculated when you register for class. 4 www.EdinaSchools.org/EarlyLearningCenter
